A George III mahogany and walnut longcase clock, probably Whitehaven, bearing old label for Michael King Looking Glass Maker, Carver & Gilder to The Door, with swans neck pediment and Verre Eglomise panels above the arched door enclosing the enamelled dial with moon phase and eight day striking movement, with long trunk door and all raised on bracket feet. Height including finial 229 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Whilst the clock is ticking away and striking as it should neither the moon face or the date hand are currently connected and there are pieces missing here. The dial is badly rubbed and much of the gilding not present. The Arabic numerals around the Roman numerals are not visible neither are the date markers. The case itself is in generally good structural condition. There is considerable wear to the verre eglomise. The hood should have rear flat uprights at the rear of the sides of the case, these are missing. The trunk door is not warped. The sides of the case are in generally good order as is the blind fretwork and the base. There are no significant issues with the case other than the missing sections at the rear of the hood and very minor losses of the edge cornice.
A 19th century oak and walnut longcase clock, with square brass dial and two-train striking movement by John Clark. Height 217 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock hood is missing its top panel. There is no glass to the door. The hood is structurally otherwise sound. The trunk door is not warped and closes as it should. The sides of the trunk are in good condition. The base has a timber loss to the left hand side which should be evident from our image. The sides of the base are in good order. The base will probably have had a plinth at some point and now looks rather low. The dial is extremely dirty as is the movement. It appears complete. We have the pendulum but the metal suspension is missing. We have two weights. The movement and case are clearly a marriage. It is also a little odd to have a walnut veneered door on an oak case.
A mahogany longcase clock, late 18th century, with eight day movement, painted arched dial, subsidiary date and seconds dials, the painted arch depicting Mary Queen of Scots escaping Loch Leven Castle and each spandrel with portraits of Douglas Seton, Herries and Fleming and signed "J.N.O. Sliman, Cumnock". Height 221 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in generally very good order. The hood is in good condition with no issues. The moulding above the long trunk door is missing at the front and both sides. Other than this the case is really in extremely good condition. We have the pendulum and both weights. The catgut is however perished and we have not had the movement running. One of the cheek blocks is missing and the movement does not sit straight in the case, the movement appears to be complete and is simply a little dirty. The clock is not a marriage.

Neither door is warped. The silvered brass dial is in good original condition. The movement winds on both trains and runs and strikes when weight is applied to the mechanism. The only minor issue with the piece is that the suspension feather is missing.

The door closes as it should. The hinge is a little loose. The front of the case is in very good condition as are the sides of the trunk. There is a stress fracture to the rear right hand side of the base at the back. All feet are original and in generally good order. We have a pendulum and two weights. The movement is a little dirty but appears to be all present. The date wheel is in place. We have not had the clock running, however when weight is applied to the going train the seconds hand operates. The same comment applies to the strike train.
A Regency mahogany Scottish drumhead longcase clock, with gilt painted dial with Roman numerals and with two-train striking movement, the trunk door flanked by quarter column corners and with panelled base raised on bracket feet. Height 205 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock is in generally good order. The movement is currently ticking and appears to be striking as it should. We have both weights and pendulum but no winding key. The face is in generally good condition with only minor rubs and surface marks. The hood is in good condition with no issues. The trunk door has had a small break to the top left hand corner. The piece has been glued and there are no losses. We have the key and the door locks. The door is not warped.
