A Hollie point lace doll's bonnet, 18th century, cream fine lawn baby cap, minutely hand-stitched with tucks, and insertions of Hollie point lace to crown and back, 6.5 x 8.5 cm (2.5 x 3.5 ins), with stitched paper label attached written in early sepia ink copperplate on recto 'Dolls cap beautifully stitched, point lace back and crown', and on verso 'Miss Spriggs Henwick Grove Worcester', together with other hand-made miniature garments, comprising: a tiny sleeveless under-shirt with lace-trimmed cap; a larger sleeveless under-shirt; a high-waisted brown silk dress; a pair of tucked pantaloons; 2 long cotton undergarments; a tucked apron; and a pair of knitted woollen stockings, together with a later manuscript label 'Dolls' clothes, found in the trunk containing old wedding dresses etc.', plus a tiny knitted glove attached to the verso of an engraved trade card and captioned 'Knit by the blind at an Asylum in Bristol, AMS 11th/28th 1879', various condition and sizesQTY: (12)NOTE:Provenance: Collection of Quaker antiquary Martha Spriggs (1777-1866), Worcester, by family descent.The earlier label is in the hand of Hester Spriggs (1818-1889), daughter of Martha and William Spriggs.

Charles Fox in the role of Satan, is shown offering the false fruit of French Ideology to John Bull. Fox's 'Tree of Liberty' is a barren and leafless item and its fruit is rotten and half-eaten and comprises of "Conspiracy," "Treason," "Murder," and "Atheism," "Blasphemy," and "Impiety."Behind Fox and his bare tree is a contrasting English oak tree, which is verdant and green and draws its strength from the three foundational roots of British political life: the "Commons," the "King," and the "Lords." Those roots produce a solid and upright trunk of "Justice," with branches of "Law" and "Religion" and its fruit includes "Freedom," "Happiness," and "Security."
An Exhibition quality original mahogany pagoda top Longcase clock by Benjamin Barlow, Ashton. C.1780, Blind fretting to the pagoda top with swan next below flanked by floral painted metal insert and matching blind fretting. Fluted columns with large well cast Corinthian capitals. The trunk with long door, Reeded columns with very large capitals above brickwork moulding, the base with central panel and canted corner blind fretwork. The Silvered arch dial marked Benjamin Barlow, Ashton with moon-phase, subsidiary 4 bells / 8 bells dial and calendar aperture. A Georgian mahogany long case clock by John Galbraith of Falkirk, silvered break arch dial with chapter ring bearing Arabic and Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, two train eight day movement, with bell strike, the hood with break arch pediment, raised on brass capped fluted pilasters, above a boxwood line inlaid trunk, with fluted quarter pilasters, raised on bracket feet, with pendulum, weights and key, 220cm high.
A Georgian oak longcase clock, the break arch dial painted with pastoral scenes, bearing Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, two train eight day movement with bell strike, the case with a shaped pediment, hood with brass capped columns, raised on a plain trunk, on a plinth base, with weights, pendulum and key, 215cm high.

Group of two Chinese Yixing zisha clay teapots. The natural form teapot is of a brown and irregular cylindrical form depicting a tree trunk, including faint depictions of tree rings along the top surface. The round teapot is of an earthy red color with a pocked texture along the surface throughout the exterior. The handles, spouts, and finials of each teapot are in the form of tree branches. Both impressed along the inside of the lid with a two-character mark. Each pot is also impressed along the underside; the natural form teapot with a three-character mark and the round teapot with a four-character mark.(Natural form teapot) height: 3 in x width: 6 in x depth: 3 1/2 in. (Round teapot) height: 3 in x width: 5 1/2 in x depth: 3 1/2 in.Condition: No major chips, breaks, losses, or repairs. Light wear to the undersides of both pots. Nathaniel Sergeant of London grandfather clock with 11.5 inch silvered break-arch dial with black Roman and Arabic numerals, date aperture, decorative hands, a ‘strike/silent’ dial to the arch and signed to the centre ‘Nathil. Sergeant, London’. The top case with reeded Corinthian columns and glazed sides. The trunk with reeded pillars flanking, over an inlaid shaped panel door on box base (crack to front panel of box base). Height 204cm, w46cm, d33cm. BUYER TO COLLECT OR ARRANGE COURIER.* Two clockmakers by the name of Nathaniel Sergeant are recorded as working at the period this clock was made, and may well have been the same person with the records misinterpreted. The first was free of the Clockmakers Company in 1763 and worked until at least 1786 and was also listed as an auctioneer; the second is recorded working in Cannon Street and was free of the Clockmakers Company in 1768 and worked until at least 1790.
