FLY TYING MATERIALS: Unique extensive collection of late Victorian fly tying materials gathered from various Continents and has lain unopened for almost 100 years. Contents include a mass of skins and feathers - Jungle Cock necks, Macaw, Cock-of-the Rock, seals fur and other materials and equipment. Many are complete bird specimens. approx. 20 (toucans, macaws and egrets, kingfishers and pittas) from Latin America, India and the Far East, and a large number of necks, and heads of smaller species (Golden Pheasant etc. Each is carefully wrapped in newspapers, several dated late 19th century, but mostly 1911-1918 vintage. eg The Fishing Gazette 4 November 1916. plus many boxes of Tippet and tail feathers, virtually everything that has ever flown, assorted casts, furs and capes in various card/tin boxes, all in large black japanned tin trunk 26”x19”x14”. Previously owned by Arthur Hawley, gifted to Capt. Roddie Casement RN then passed down to Cmdr. M.B Casement OBE. RN. See images. A mid 19th Century doll’s trousseau, including a cream cotton dress with red, blue and brown pattern with low squared neck, pleated bodice and cape sleeves – 4¾in (12cm) wide at waist and 17in (43cm) high; a similar dark blue dress with short fitted sleeves; a white dress with lace trim; a pair of ice skates, one handed pony skin muff; a paper covered trunk, red with black spots sun bonnet; a check cape; a red and a blue gingham play overall; other outfits, some homemade; a quantity of underclothes including a laced bodice, many with AM monogram; a black satin coat with pointed bell sleeve (damage); with a doll’s stuffed body with the remains of a damaged late 19th century bisque head and lower limbs – 19in (48.5cm) approx from shoulder to feet; and a large handkerchief case monogrammed AM. Provenance: The Doll was given to the vendor by a maternal Aunt (Hilda Taynton Evans, nee Hiley 1890-1973), but the doll probably belonged originally to the mother of the Aunt, Edith Anne Morgan (later Hiley) 1851-194.

A 19TH CENTURY INLAID MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY LONG CASE CLOCK by James Park, Kilmacolm, having a moulded flat-topped hood with arched glazed door in geometric banding, the cockbeaded trunk door with central foliate paterae in geometric banding and quadrant corners, the trunk with banding and foliate frieze, the base with conche shell paterae and conforming banding, raised on a plinth, the arch of the dial painted with a ploughing scene, the chapter ring with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, two subsidiary dials, two winding apertures and the makers name, all in figural depictions of the seasons, sold with two weights and pendulum. 205cm(h) Condition Reports: Repairs to inlay and veneer, the dial fully re-painted with makers location misspelt (Kilmalcom should be Kilmacolm) viewing advised.
