19th CENTURY MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, by John Hughes, Carnarvon (sic), with swan-neck pediment above a white-painted enamel arched dial decorated with exotic buildings, with rolling moon phase in the arch, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, Roman numerals and eight-day movement, the hood with paired spirally fluted pilasters and columns, the trunk with panelled door between spirally fluted quarter columns, raised on ogee bracket feet. 2.39m by 0.62m by 0.26m Note: John Hughes was the son of Hugh Hughes, a well-known Welsh watch and clockmaker. He is believed to have been active between 1844 and 1863.
