Stamped on each end with the initials St G for the St George family. The brass lock stamped, Louis Vuitton, New Bond St London, Paris, 07551, the brass clasps stamped LV, and with an original Louis Vuitton label inside, 736327. 76cms across, 49cms deep, 58cms high *This trunk was commissioned by the St George family, and has remained in the family since the 1930's.

An 18th century longcase clock, the hood with broken arch pediment and reeded pilasters, the arched dial with Roman numerals and Arabic numerals to the exterior, subsidiary second dial and date aperture to the centre and pierced silvered hands surrounded by floral painted spandrels, the arch with makers name Alexander Nimmo Kirkaldy. The trunk with shaped top door flanked by reeded quarter pilasters, on a plinth base. 19¼ins wide by 82ins.
