A George III oak eight day longcase clock by George Johnson, London. With open swan neck pediment and marquetry inlay. Having square brass dial ornamented with spandrels, having silvered chapter ring and engraved with stylized flowers, 211cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Some cracks to the base of the trunk. Sold with weights and pendulum. Gut tangled so not currently running.

Royal Horse Artillery Attributed Casualty Officer’s RHA Busby and Uniforms, A magnificent and near complete grouping of uniforms worn by Captain G.H. Merriman, who was originally commissioned into the Royal Field Artillery and later transferred to the RHA. He was Killed in Action 1915. Comprising: RHA busby with storage bag in named tin complete with plume in its own container ... bullion cap lines, Royal Horse Artillery Eton style jacket, the front bearing, 18 double loops of gold cord, each mounted with a gilt metal regimental ball button .... gold lace pouch belt complete with black patent leather pouch bearing gun ... overalls with broad red stripe down the seams ... patrol uniform ... ... another undress uniform (open neck) ... mess dress ... frock coat... RA full dress uniform tunic ... gold lace bet complete with slings ... 2 sword belt (one ... spurs ... white gloves ... two bullion sword knots ... gilt RA helmet plate with ball and chain ... gilt and OSD bronze cap badges ... buttons ... fly whisk etc all contained in metal storage trunk. Together with a photograph of Gordon Holland Merriman wearing the RHA tunic and holding his busby. The overall condition is good, with storage wear, please note that the busby with some fur loss and is very defective. Born 10 December 1884 at Hollingford House, Knutsford, Cheshire. Son of Frank Merriman and Mariquita (neé Boyd). Educated at Horris Hill, Winchester College (1898-1902) and Woolwich.#11;1904 -- Obtained commission in Royal Field Artillery. 'Gazetted' Feb 7 1905. April 1911 -- Lieutenant in the British Army, Royal Field Artillery, 84th Battery. Served in India. Lived at a military residence, Belgaum. 1912 -- Transferred to the Royal Horse Artillery. Served in South Africa. August 1914 -- Lieutenant in the British Army, Royal Horse Artillery, J Battery. Served in France. October 1914 -- Promoted Captain. Early 1915 -- Given command of a R.F.A. ammunition column, and later of the 95th Field battery (21st Division). May 12th, 1915, Killed in action.#11;During the Second Battle of Ypres, one of his limbers was ignited by enemy shell-fire. Captain Merriman immediately ordered everyone under cover and ran up to extinguish the fire. He was struck by a shell while so engaged and instantaneously killed

A Fine Quality Late 18th Century Eight Day Longcase Clock by Laurence Dalgleish of Edinburgh Circa 1795. The mahogany 'fiddle' veneered case inlaid with stringing and having a swan-necked hood with delicately fretted boxwood insets of scrolling foliage above fluted columns topped by gilded Corinthian capitals. The trunk having recessed quarter columns either side. The 12 ins (30 cm) dial having a silvered chapter ring with outer minute divisions encircling a silvered centre engraved with ho-ho birds amidst sprays of foliage flanking a recessed seconds dial in a serpentine edged aperture, a ring of calendar marked to the outer edge and inscribed maker's name Laur. Dalgleish Edinburgh. Standing 87 ins (221 cms) in height.
A Rare & Important 17th Century Oak & Tortoiseshell Month Running Long Case Clock. The 10½ ins (27 cms) brass dial having a silvered chapter ring engraved with Roman numerals counting the hours and an outer ring of Arabic minute markers, encircling a matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and ornate pierced hands centred by rosette engraving. The base of the dial having a moon roller above inscribed banner 'Johannes van Cuelen Hage' flanked by a calendar ring on one side and day of the week on the other (Johannes van Cuelen, The Hague; A founding member of The Hague Clockmakers Guild, Circa 1688). The tortoiseshell veneered hood with architectural pediment surmounted by gilt bronze figures and adornments, edged in ebony moulding. The oak trunk with moulded strapwork fashioned into voluted scrolls and incorporating panels of tortoiseshell and ebony with a glazed oval aperture to the centre. Standing on a moulded base with ball feet, 91 ins (231 cm) high.[Provenance: Ex Count Limburg-Stirum].
A Fine Late 17th Century Eight Day Clock Movement by John Williamson of Leeds (previously London). The 10¼ ins (26 cm) square brass dial inscribed along the bottom; John Williamson Leedes Fecit, with a silvered chapter ring encircling a finely matted centre incorporating a silvered seconds ring, ringed winding holes and a calendar aperture surrounded by engraved scrollwork. The corners adorned with cherub head spandrels. The replica walnut case with a flat topped hood decorated with a fretwork frieze and integral barley twist corner posts. The trunk door edged in ovolu moulding with a glazed oval pendulum aperture. 74½ ins (189 cms) in height.
A William & Mary Marquetry Month Going Longcase Clock Circa 1685. The six pillar movement having a 10 inch (25.5 cm) square brass dial signed Adamson London (John Adamson was in The Clockmaker's Comany in 1686 - Ref Brian Loomes). The silvered chapter ring encircling a matted centre engraved with a daisy wheel and incorporating a calendar aperture and seconds dial, with original hands. The case having an original rising hood with latch and ebonised barleytwist columns to the corners. The trunk inlaid with panels of marquetried birds and flowers,75¼ ins (191 cms) in height.

The 10 inch (25.5 cms) square brass dial having a silvered skeleton chapter ring encircling a matted centre with ring turned winding holes, a subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture. The base of the dial signed Nathaniel Hodges Londini Fecit, the corners adorned with scrolling cherub head spandrels. The woodgrained case having a converted rising hood with pierced pediment carved with a cherub's head and flowers above integral barley twist corner columns. The trunk door with fielded panels and a glazed oval aperture to the centre. 80½ ins (204.5 cms) high.

The 11¾ ins (30 cm) arched dial having a painted moon-roller below engraved maker's name; George Clapham Brigg. The chapter ring encircling an engraved centre depicting a sailing boat and castle, with a calendar aperture and recessed seconds dial. The flame figured case having a swan-neck pediment to the hood surmounted by spired brass ball finials with blind fretwork to the corners above fluted side columns. The trunk with recessed quarter columns flanking a moulded arch topped door. 96 ins (245 cms) in height.
An Early 18th Century Eight Day Clock Movement by Obadiah Cluer of London. The 12 inch (30.5 cm) brass arched dail edged in bands of herringbone engraving and having a convex maker's roundel to the arch inscribed Obed Cluer London flanked by scrolling dolphin mounts, above a silvered chapter ring with matted centre incorporating a subsidiary seconds dial, ringed winding holes and a calendar aperture embellished with engraved birds and a basket of fruit. The replica walnut & mahogany case having a flat topped hood with fret-work backed in silk to the corners above integral columns flanking the dial, and a glazed pendulum display to the trunk door edged in moulding. 88½ ins (225 cms) in height.
