Condition: Generally good condition. Movement complete; appears to run. The case with general marks, nicks, scratches, wear and shrinkage cracks commensurate with age. The hood with later added screw holes to each side corresponding to later added mounting brackets that have since been removed. A crack to scroll of pediment. The scalloped door molding of hood with a crack to left side, a loss to right side, and a 4``-long loose section on right side. Each side panel of hood with losses to fretwork, more severe on left side; pieces retained. Three areas of repair to carving applied over glazing on door of trunk. A repaired break to molded edge on top left corner of base. Chipping to base and feet. No key to doors. Moran`s does not guarantee working condition. Eighteenth century Scottish longcase clock with eight day movement, silvered break arch dial with engraved spandrels, subsidiary second dial and calendar aperture, break arch signed - John Peatt Crieff, flanked by engraved hypocamps, in a mahogany case with full length arched door, the hood with fluted columns, dentil cornice and caddy top with central pierced panel, 214cm overall height CONDITION REPORT Good overall condition is fair. Movement has been cleaned but we are unable to say whether it is in full working order. Dial silvering is marked and scratched, some damage around winding holes. Minute hand is missing and dial may not be original to movement. Seat board has been raised and movement and case may be a marriage. Overall, case is good, trunk door hinges have been replaced, hood is missing one side glass and all three finials are lacking. Fretted decoration is damaged
