See illustration Condition report Report by RB The dial has 4 Bells/8 Bells regulator 2 III, the gilt spandrels to the arch are of a more glitzy gilt colour, and actually cover some engraved decoration and are therefore probably later, there is a hole to the CHIME/SILENT subsidiary dial, just underneath the centre pin of the dial, the movement is quite substantial, as you would expect, but clearly has not run in a decade or two, the case has now fallen to pieces and is in a flat pack condition (!), having been subjected to several years of central heating, the trunk door is slightly bowed, as is the base sections, the back board (to which the gong is attached) has a Spillman & Co, St Martin's Lane, London, ivorine plaque, there is a section of approx. 6.5 cm taken out of the back right hand side, about 90% towards the top (approx. 1.5 cm deep), and although the case now needs putting back together it is actually quite a pleasing colour, with general knocks, wear and tear as one would expect, with pendulum (repaired) and two weights, most of the case parts are present, it has basically just collapsed due to central heating in the house for too long
