RILEY, BERWICK, A LATE 18TH CENTURY INLAID MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, the brass arch dial 8 day movement with subsidiary date and seconds dials, the swan hood with arched door and integral Corinthian capital pillars, long trunk door flanked by quarter columns raised on an oval veneered and strung base, with splay feet, 82 1/2 ins high. An African wooden table with trunk top, standing on legs carved as stylized male mask, leopard and antelope, with ring base, 19in. diameter, 26 1/2in. high; together with a similar stool with carved design, 12 1/2in. diameter, 14 1/4in. high, both probably by the Bamileke Tribe of Cameroon. (2)

Robson, Chester-le-Street", painted a bird to the arch, flowers to the corners, arabic numerals, subsidiary date dial, the hood flanked by turned pilasters, the panelled door to the trunk decorated with cross banded canted corners, raised on a plinth base, 18 1/2in. x 80in. high.
An oak longcase clock, the swan neck pediment above the 13in. painted dial, inscribed "Davison, Wooler", decorated with painted male and female figures with dog to the arch, floral spandrels, fitted eight day movement, an arched panel door to the trunk flanked by turned pilasters, raised on bracket feet, 19in. x 84in. high.
A Victorian 'Plum Pudding' mahogany longcase clock with scrolling pediment above the 13 1/2in. painted dial, with subsidiary seconds dial and date dials with roman numerals, inscribed "W. Flather, Halifax", fitted thirty hour chain driven movement, decorated with painted arch depicting Moses being found in the bulrushes, various buildings to the spandrels, flanked by turned pilasters, fitted a single panel door to the broad trunk, cross banded base on bracket feet, 25in. x 83in. high.

This clock is thought to date from circa 1730

An 18th Century 30 Hour Oak Long Case Clock. The 10¾ inch (27.3 cm) square brass dial having silvered chapter ring signed Thos. Haden Roruley ? encircling a matted centre with scrolling gilt spandrels adorning the corners. The hood with a moulded cornice and inlaid banding to the door flanked by turned integral columns. The case having a long break arch-topped trunk door cross-banded in mahogany, inlaid with stringing and edged in reeded moulding. Standing on a moulded plinth base 79 ins (201 cms) high.
A 30 Hour Oak Longcase Clock. The 9¾ inch (25 cm) square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring signed Abdell Richmond encircling a matted centre with single handle and a calendar aperture. The corners embellished with pierced brass spandrels. The hood having a moulded cornice above a blind-fret carved frieze and integral columns flanking the glazed door. The case having a long trunk door with shaped top. 75¾ ins (190 cms) in height.
A Rare 18th Century Tortoiseshell Grandmother Clock. The 8 inch (20.5 cm) square brass dial having a silvered chapter ring engraved James Whittaker and bordering the floral engraved centre with calendar aperture. The corners adorned with pierced brass cherub head spandrels. The hood having a moulded cornice above the glazed door flanked by two barley-twist columns. The unusual tortoiseshell case having a long trunk door with applied moulding and a circular pendulum aperture, raised on a stepped box plinth. 70 ins (178 cms) high, 14 ins (36 cms) wide, 9¾ ins (25 cms) depth.

Born in 1770 and married in 1813 to Elizabeth Brodie, Lord Huntly succeeded as 5th Duke of Gordon in 1827 but died without issue in 1836 when the dukedom became extinct and the Marquessate devolved upon a kinsman. There is a strong similarity to the design by Flaxman for the candelabrum presented to The Marquess of Salisbury.
