A RARE YONGZHENG MARK & PERIOD IRON-RED & UNDERGLAZE BLUE DECORATED 'DRAGON' DISH (1723 - 1735) The finely potted body with interior decorated with a large iron-red five-clawed dragon encircling a flaming pearl against a background of blue and white cresting waves. The rounded well with four further iron-red dragons one with wings, one with elephant's trunk, two of whom have three claws, the other two with five claws, all emitting flaming tendrils from their sinuous bodies and set amidst blue and white swirling clouds. The rim with a band of rolling waves. The reverse with a repeat of the four dragons in a band enclosed by double-line borders. The Yongzheng six character mark in two columns within a double circle, 48cm diameter.
