Passe d. J., Crispijn de -- Conjuges: Lob auf die rechtmäßige Ehe. Kupferstich nach Crispijn de Passe de Oude. 19,4 x 24,8cm. Hollstein 10 II. Wz. Bekrönter Adler mit zwei Fischen auf der Brust. Im Vordergrund sitzt eine Bauernfamilie an einem Tisch vor ihrem mit Weintrauben bedeckten Haus. Der Vater ruht und stützt sich auf seine Schaufel. Die Kinder stehen um ihre Mutter herum, während der älteste Sohn die Hände zum Gebet faltet. Im Hintergrund zieht ein Hochzeitszug zur Kirche. Die lateinische Bildunterschrift ist eine Adaption von Psalm 128:2-3 über das häusliche Glück: „Selig ist der Mann, der den Herrn fürchtet und auf seinen Wegen wandelt. Von den Früchten deiner Arbeit wirst du leben und glücklich sein. Ihre Frau ist eine reiche Rebe, die in Ihrem Haus blüht. Deine Kinder sind um deinen Tisch versammelt wie junge Olivenbäume.“ Während in den Bauernhochzeiten von Pieter Bruegel Sinnlichkeit und Trunk angeprangert wurden, wird hier das fromme Element der Bauernhochzeit betont (Ger Luijten).Ganz ausgzeichneter Druck knapp an oder innerhalb der Plattenkante geschnitten. An exquisite vintage Burmese Kalaga tapestry Wall Hanging featuring padded figures, elephants and dragons covered in antique gold sequins and couched bullion threads. There are cut glass 'jewels' at four points on the boarder and moonstone like 'jewels' around the central motif. The traditional piece has been mounted on a tapestry effect jacquard fabric and backed with cotton. 109 cm x 72 cmcondition is generally good. There is some minor sequin loss and a couple of missing stitches around the elephants trunk.

The hood having glazed door with columns and fretwork above a stepped trunk base with faux brickwork and columns flanking the door. Complete with pendulum and weights.
