A Meissen chinoiserie group circa 1755 modelled by J.J. Kaendler, P. Reinicke and F. E. Meyer, as a seated lady in a yellow ground coat patterned with indianische Blumen over a puce skirt, her right arm supporting a young boy dressed in a puce-lined coat and turquoise breeches sitting on her lap holding two drum sticks, set on a mound base with encrusted flowers and leaves in striped magenta, yellow and red crossed swords in underglaze-blue 14cm., 5in. cymbal and fingers on left hand missing, figure to left missing, some other damage and restoration This group is one of a series of chinoiserie groups modelled between 1750 and 1755. It may be based on a print after Francois Boucher, whose work is known to have inspired other groups from this series, often referred to as the 'Les Delices de L'Enfance' series Literature A similar model was sold at Sotheby's, London, 15th June 1993 lot 209
A Sunderland-type lustre jug, possibly made at Newcastle, printed in black on either side with two verses 'To a Freind' [sic] and 'The Sailor tost [sic] in stormy seas' and with a print of 'A West View of the Iron Bridge at Sunderland' on the front, all enamelled in green, yellow and dark red, surrounded by pink lustre framing, the spout and neck also decorated with dragged pink lustre, height 18.7cm, unmarked, circa 1830-50 (star crack in base, chips to rim and lower handle, chips to the glaze over the surface)
A Mason's Patent Ironstone China jug and dish: the jug of typical octagonal shape with a crabstock handle decorated with a highly coloured print of Chinese figures with remnants of gilding to the rim, height 16.1cm, black-printed crown and drape mark, circa 1820-30; the dish with sponged base, decorated with a design of a Chinese family at tea, extensively coloured, length 31.6cm, black-printed crown and drape mark (no name) and circular impressed mark 'PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA', circa 1813-25. A Springer Spaniel pattern dinner plate attributed to Ralph Stevenson, printed in blue with the scene of the dog flushing a gamebird from cover, within a wide floral border, diameter 24.9cm, unmarked, circa 1820-30. A Rogers Greek Statue pattern well-and-tree meat dish with matching vegetable dish, both printed in blue with the classical scene, the meat dish length 52.3cm; the square vegeatble dish with lion knop to domed cover, width 23.1cm, both with impressed maker's mark, circa 1815-30 (meat dish cracked and roughly repaired, cover cracked and chipped, base with chipped footrim) See Coysh 2/78 for this pattern on a dinner plate; also FOB64 for the source print titled 'Ruins of Athens'

The sea chest of Captain Thomas Manners (1750-1824), dimensions 33" x 17" x 133/4", of skin covered wooden construction with traces of fur, edges bound in brass studs, gilt brass folding carrying handles, iron strip binding overall. In the top centre an oval brass disc engraved with the family crest - a peacock in pride. Keyed lock on front (no key). Interior of blue patterned paper, the inside lid with a coloured print of the Royal George engraved after a drawing by Thomas Baston. Generally worn overall with signs of old worm holes.
