Re-issue of the work from 1977 with the original cards, but housed in a newly designed box (not the original blue cloth box), 8.5 x 13.5 x 9.5 cm. ABC- We Print Anything - In The Cards was a performance staged at Franklin Furnace New York and De Appel Amsterdam in 1977, which documented the turbulent relationship between the artist and two lovers. Schneemann recited texts from index cards while images were projected on a screen behind her. The performance piece was also conceived as a boxed set of cards, published by the Brummense Uitgeverij Van Luxe Werkjes, Beuningen (NL). This lot contains the original set of 156 numbered index cards printed with text, each card accompanied by an identically numbered index card printed with an image. Printed in various colours of ink on cards in varying colours. As usual with the card set, it has some flaws in the compilation of cards. This copy misses 3 text cards (28, 102, 120), and includes all 6 introduction cards (2 glued to the box). The original set was made in a signed and numbered edition of 151. This is an unsigned and unnumbered copy that derives directly from the publisher, Geurt van Dijk, who commissioned Sacha de Ven to design a box in 1990. The handmade cardboard box has an original title card and end card mounted to the top and bottom, and the designer's name and production date printed inside the box.
Ghent, Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst, 1984. Scarf, screen print on nylon, 76 x 72 cm, plus 2 text sheets by Jan Hoet in Flemish and English. Housed in a black cardboard box, 25.5 x 25.5 cm, with colophon label and text on interior ('The Poodle never begs except for meaning'). Signed and numbered 122/500. The multiple is a smaller version of General Idea’s 1984 'Ghent flag' in which the artists revamped Ghent's official emblem, replacing the lion by a poodle. Some controversy aroused when 50 flags were displayed in the city, but the mayor made a public statement in favour of poodles. The item shows edge wear on the exterior of the box, creasing on text sheets, scarf with traces of use.
Hamburg, Edition Helga Maria Klosterfelde, 1992. Ship flag, silkscreen print on fabric, 100 x 150 cm, in custom made box. Edition of 500, 60 signed and numbered, 440 numbered. This copy is numbered 168/500 on the back of the box. Each skull on the flag refers to one member of General Idea. Fine copy. General Idea (Toronto, 1967-1994) was an artists' collective made up of Felix Partz, Jorge Zontal and AA Bronson, striving to critique popular and media culture by way of humour, parody, and irony. From 1987 onwards their work addressed the AIDS crisis, both Partz and Zontal died of AIDS in 1994.

Publicity shot (cropped from a 1976 photo 'Sylvia Miles & Andy Warhol at the Factory') in unknown edition. Very moderate creasing on photograph, verso with glue remnants, generally a good copy. Tighe photographed celebrated people in the arts through the 70s and was shooting regularly for Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine.
