Ben Eine (British, b. 1970)"Sexy" wrapping paper - 2018 ChristmasPrint on paperUnsigned Ben Eine (British, b.1970) is one of the most successful street artists in the world and is regarded as a pioneer in the exploration of graffiti letterforms. Originally a writer, Eine started his career over 25 years ago, leaving his first tag all over London before developing his distinct typographic style. Eine’s aim was to point out that street art is distinct from graffiti. He believed “street artists want to add something to the environment. They consider the audience, whereas graffiti writers don’t care about anyone except themselves, they do it purely for the kick”. Eine's bright and colourful letters were created to stand out from the usual tags and dubs seen on the streets and can still be found in areas of East London. These letters appear on shop shutters and often spell whole words across walls. Eine first came to prominence in the “commercial” graffiti scene through his symbiotic partnership with London graffiti artist Banksy. In 2010 the UK Prime Minister David Cameron gifted his artwork to President Obama, while a particular area of the East End was named ‘Alphabet City’ after his colourful array of shopfront ‘shutter art’. Currently Ben Eine’s work is held in the permanent collections of the V&A, London, The Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles and galleries worldwide, while his street art works can be seen all over the world. Most recently he completed a huge mural on the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi.Measures 70cm x 50cm (27.5" x 19.75")

Paul Boswell (b. 1966)Bozmech, 2009Print on paperSigned & dated in pencil to frontArt-El Gallery stampedFramed & glazed Boswell is a self trained artist and illustrator creating Weirdo drawings, freaked out creatures from another world, sculptural mutations and wall scrawlings from the depths of the farm. Influenced by nature, the supernatural, weird literature, primitive music, lost technologies and the human Psyche. Emerging from Rural Somerset Boswell presents us with a mixed up twisted world where the likes of freakish anthropomorphic creatures stalk apocalyptic landscapes co-existing with lost and obsolete technologies, which have mutated and taken on a new life. Boswell’s weird and wonderful visions are fuelled by a powerful imagination, a soup of the mind whose ingredients range from a childhood brought up on comics, old horror movies, sci-fi, northern European fairy tales, weird 1970 s kids T.V, and Punk Rock to name but a few of the influences. After getting into Graffiti in the 80s through discovering the seminal book Subway Art like so many others of his generation, Boswell’s art found a new means of expression on walls. In some ways the antithesis of more bubbly traditional Graffiti forms Boswell’s work dwells in a twilight world, an edgier and atmospheric domain. The eternal outsider Boswell pushes the boundaries of the art form creating a fantastical and sometimes unnerving universe of mutated possibilities.Measures approx. 50 x 34 cm (19" x 13")

STOT21stCplanB LINZEY - Humiliation, Whipping, BeatingPrint on art paper STOT21stCplanB (sometimes pronounced STOT twenty one with a silent ‘stCplanB’) started out as a zero-ambition noise/alt-country rock band, releasing the nihilistic CDR only LP Satan’s Rat Trap and the Mouse that Wound Up Dead (2004) and the flood/love/disaster themed mini-LP Up To Yer Neck In It (2005), before turning attentions towards visual art disruption. Describing themselves as Neo-Nothingist Anartists, three years of intense creativity followed, exploring and dealing with notions of “the puerile”, where the duo worked in a multiplicity of mediums from photo-montage, printmaking, painting, to political campaigning, crockery and making fake Banksys under the name Not Banksy. In 2008, collaborators THE AQUARIUM L-13 (predecessor to the L-13 Light Industrial Workshop) hosted a fundraising event for Ken Livingstone’s mayoral campaign. STOT21stCplanB declared they would stand against him and put forward their own candidate known only as THE ASSISTANT. Despite designing some fantastic campaign posters they failed to get to the first stage of the elections and in bitter disappointment declared semi-retirement at the end of 2008. The next 13 years were spent mostly painting landscapes and religious scenes of violence under the name Harry Adams, emerging occasionally for one-off projects, eventually succumbing to popular demand and re-activating the Not Banksy project in 2018. Making and selling Not Banksys kept them very busy for several more years, culminating in the publication a memoir: The Not Banksy Book: Lying, Cheating, Stealing and the Death of Art Vol 13, L-13 Press 2021 (aka The Lob-a-Knob Book).Measures approx. 33cm x 25cm (12 3/4" x 10")
