After John Piper CH (1903-1992) 'Llangloffan, Pembrokeshire, the baptist chapel' (Levinson, No 140) inscribed on various labels verso, reproduction print, 54 x 71.5 cm ** The final proof before the artist authorised the complete run of prints this print and the following item represent the first stage of production, Mark Goldmark of the 'Goldmark Gallery' in Uppingham purchased them both from the Curwen archive when sold by, Stanley Jones. **Both images are from the series entitled, 'A Retrospective of Churches' (1964) published by Jones on the basis that 'Piper' would authorise (or not) the production of the final proofs. May be subject to artist resale rights.
After John Piper CH (1903-1992) 'Redenhall, Norfolk', bears a "Curwen Studio" label verso, reproduction print, 73 x 37 cm, **Provenance, see the previous lot, in the case of 'Redenhall Church' the vendor was informed that Piper slightly altered the colour before the printing, it is therefore believed that the two prints are from a very small run, (possibly even one) which were then placed in store in 'The Curwen Studio' archive. May be subject to artist resale rights.

Richard Beer, a large mixed method print (etching, aquatint and soft ground toning), `Magdalen`, this being number 58 from an edition of 100, signed and numbered in pencil in the margin, 50 x 60cm, framed, mounted and glazed, together with an antique hand-coloured engraved map of Isle of Wight, circa 1648, possibly by Abraham Ortelius (printed after his death), and an Alum Bay sand picture of Isle of Wight coastline.
