Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) and Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Bruhl), situated at the top of the artwork, appear to be smirking. They are oblivious to the terror the "Basterds" - led by Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) - set to inflict on the Nazis, which ultimately leads to the climatic explosive attack within the cinema (which takes centre stage in this print). The auction will begin at 2:00PM BST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. A rare original, first print British Double-Crown poster for renowned artist Andy Warhol's experimental 1966 film Chelsea Girls. The avant-garde movie follows several residents (known as "Warhol's superstars") at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. Alan Aldridge's iconic and striking black-and-white design is possibly the most sought-after art movie poster image of the late 60s. Warhol even stated his love for Aldridge's design, saying he "wished the movie was as good as the poster". Arguably, this example is part art artefact and part movie poster, and it is a great piece to add to a collection. It is presented conservation linen-backed. There was a later printing of this poster (authorised by Aldridge) with this example, one of only a very limited number (experts believe less than 20 exist) of a true first print, and distinguished by printer details on the left-hand side of the imagery, the size (22 1/2 x 30 inches) and colour tone.22.5" x 30" (57 x 76 cm)Condition: Very Fine+Originally rolled now conservation linen-backed with scattered restoration done to a high standard.Artist: Alan Aldridge£2000 - 4000VAT Status: M
