A Longton Hall Porcelain Mug, circa 1760, of ovoid form with turned foot and scroll handle, printed in black by John Sadler of Liverpool with the Arms of the Society of Bucks within rococo scroll cartouche and figures12.5cm highIt is likely that Sadler bought undecorated Longton Hall mugs during the latter years of the factory and some may have been printed after the closure of the factory. Signed examples of this print are found on similar mugs as well as creamware, enamels and delft tiles. Alastair Sim (1900-1976) Scottish Character Actor Vintage signed and inscribed sepia 7 x 10 inch photograph of Sim in a head and shoulders pose. Signed in dark fountain pen ink at the base of the image, framed. The print is also signed and made by the celebrity photographer of the 1920s and 1930s, Howard Coster.
