A COALPORT BLUE AND WHITE JUG, JOHN ROSE & CO, 1796-C1800 22cm h Provenance: M Wright. Literature: 1989, illustrated p94; 2011, pp82, 85. The elaborate curly handle form is normally found on jugs of the waisted shape. The present example is decorated with all the constituent parts including the flower border of the Calcut Vase of Flowers print. This single example provides an important link between the Calcut and Coalport Factories. ++Manufacturing (firing) cracks and faults No Reserve
A COALPORT BLUE AND WHITE JUG, JOHN ROSE & CO, 1796-C1800 AND A SIMILAR CONTEMPORARY CHINESE SAUCER printed with the Latticed Fence and Pagoda and painted with the Latticed Urn and Fence patterns respectively Provenance: Bill Dickenson, Ironbridge. The jug is of the plain 1796 shape, with latticed fence and pagoda and secondary prints from Calcut's Round Arched Bridge and the oval flower border found on the two Calcut mugs above. The decoration on the Chinese saucer with its latticed fence is similar in style to the main print on the jug and the source of the latticed urn and fence on the Caughley saucer illustrated 1989, p27; 2004, p470 and 2013, p191. A similar jug in the Godden Reference Collection, illustrated 1989, p98, 1985, p337 and 2004, p500, was sold Bonhams, 13 November, 2013, lot 220. ++Saucer cracked and chipped No Reserve

A boxed and glazed gorget and epaulette belonging to Leiutenant James Murray 20th Regiment, together with a framed print of a photograph of him. The gilt gorget of universal pattern, the silver lace epaulette with crowned XX button. Good Condition. Plate 9. Note: The caption under the picture and ivory tablet with the boxed items reads “Lieutenant James Murray XX Regt mortally wounded at the Battle of “Orthes” Feb 27th 1814. Died of wounds March 7th 1814 aged 20 years. Eldest son of John Murray of Wooplaw, Roxburghshire.
A black lacquered circular patch box presented by Marshal Blucher, diam 3½”, with dark half length print of Blucher on the lid and inside under glass a printed visiting card “Le Conte de Nostitr. Aide de Comts de S.E. le Marechal Blucher” and ink inscription “Presented by order of Marsal (sic) Blucher to John Plummer Senr for his attentions to him on his passing through Henley 13 June 1814”.
