§ Simon Roberts, (British, born 1974), Clevedon Pier, Somerset, February 2011, crystal archive print, unsigned 51 x 61cm (20 x 24in) Provenance: Pierdom Touring Exhibition, 2014 Simon Roberts spent three years travelling the coastline of Britain photographing the last remaining pleasure piers. In 2014, to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the construction of Ryde Pier in the Isle of Wight (the first of the British piers), Pierdom was exhibited at 13 venues accross the UK, creating a simultaneous national exhibition.
