A late Victorian stained hardwood collectors' cabinet, circa 1900, with six drawers containing various spices and specimens; a Victorian Pratt Ware Ross & Sons Genuine Bears Grease pot lid, 7.5cm high; two further pot lids; and a quantity of other items of pharmaceutical interest, including three Italian ceramic jars, an early 20th century Boots branded glass bottle, and other itemsProvenance: from the Estate of the late Donald SparshottCondition Report: The Ross & Sons pot lid has two small chips to the rear, and the rear is mostly clean though has some minor marks which can presumably be cleaned. It has two tiny shallow chips/nibbling to the bottom edge. The gilding is a little rubbed on the edge of the scene around the writing, with loss of gilding to one side (about 4-5cm loss), and there are the usual minor marks, knocks and scratches overall. There are a handful of tiny raised dots on the surface, possibly irregularities in the ceramic or glaze. There is a diagonal line across the bear's neck, where the colour of the print is a little lighter. This may be loss of colour due to wear or printing, and it does not appear to be a damage to the ceramic itself. The colour is quite well preserved and the item is in overall presentable condition.Condition Report Disclaimer
