Michele Marieschi,1696/1710 Venedig – 1743, zug.Venezianische Vedute mit Blick in einen belebten SeitenkanalÖl auf Leinwand.65 x 81 cm.Die Vedute zeigt trotz der bislang noch nicht eindeutig gesicherten Zuweisung an den Maler doch die hohe Qualität von dessen Werken. Dies nicht allein wegen der höchst malerischen Lichtführung, der detailgenauen Wiedergabe der Gebäude, sondern auch aufgrund der sehr lebendigen Darstellung des Treibens der Gondeln, Kähne und der Schiffe mit gerafften Segeln, aber auch der Figurenstaffage. Der Blick ist wie von einer Brücke in den Verlauf des Kanals gerichtet. Links Ufertreppen, die zu den im Schatten liegenden Palästen führten, vorbei an einer aus Brettern gezimmerten Verkaufsbude mit gestikulierenden Figuren. Die Schiffe ebenso lebendig belebt mit Figurenstaffage, rechts ist unter den Passanten ein Orientale mit Turban auszumachen. Marieschi war Schüler seines Vaters, hielt sich gelegentlich als Theatermaler in Deutschland auf, kehrte jedoch 1735 nach Venedig zurück und wurde in die Malergilde Fraglia de ´Pittori aufgenommen. Zu seinen Gönnern zählte der Sammler und Generalfeldmarschall Freiherr von der Schulenburg, der von ihm zwei Bilder erwarb. Die Darstellung findet sich nach vorläufiger Recherche nicht in dem reichen Stichwerk, das Marieschi 1741 unter dem Titel „Magnificentiores Selectionesque Urbis Venetiarum Prospectus“ veröffentlicht hat.
