A George III oak bulb cistern tube stick barometer Dominick Manticha, London, circa 1780. With shallow cavetto moulded cornice above arch top glazed foliate decorated paper scale signed Manticha Fecit, LONDON with simple brass pointer and flanked by turned pilasters, the plain trunk with concealed tube above longcase clock form plinth base enclosing the cistern, 93cm high, B.C. Ref. 33. Illustrated in Banfield, Edwin BAROMETERS Stick or Cistern Tube page 85. Dominick Manticha is recorded by Banfield as working from 11 Ely Court, Holborn, London 1781-1805. The paper scale utilises the same basic print as the scale signed A. Routledge used on Lot 139).
A William IV mahogany bulb cistern tube stick barometer Adam Routledge, Carlisle, circa 1830. With break-arch glazed foliate decorated paper scale signed A. Routledge, Carlisle above full-width cockbeaded trunk with exposed tube and orb shaped cistern cover, 88cm high, B.C. Ref. 53. Illustrated in Banfield, Edwin BAROMETERS Stick or Cistern Tube page 112. Adam Routledge is recorded by Banfield as working from 32 English Street, Carlisle 1828-58. The paper scale utilises the same basic print as the scale signed Manticha Fecit, London used on Lot 73.

Ltd., October 1st, 1926, colour reproduction print, signed in pencil and with remarque to lower margin of a hunting dog, blindstamp of the Fine Art Trade Guild to lower left corner, image size approx. 305 x 420 mm. (12” x 16.5”), framed and glazed (1)

'News from Australia' & 'News from Home', printed by George Baxter, 1853-54, a pair of colour Baxter prints, each with pubs. embossed seal to lower margin, the first print with a little restoration at foot of image, each approx. 110 x 150 mm, recently framed and glazed, (Mitzman, 277 & 257), together with The Arctic Expedition in Search of Sir John Frankin, printed by George Baxter, 1850, colour Baxter print, slight fading and minor foxing, approx. 150 x 200 mm, contemp. gilt frame, glazed Mitzman, George Baxter and the Baxter Prints 193 'rare'. The print shows a group of sailors being attacked by two polar bears, with icebergs and two large sailing ships in the background. (3)

John Day, March 20, 1802, fine colour-printed stipple engraving, finished by hand, printed text to lower margin, approx. 510 x 610 mm (20 x 24 ins), a little soiled and frayed at edges, not affecting image, recently laid down on paper, period gilt frame, glazed. 'This wonderful Animal is now the property of Mr John Day of Harmston, near Lincoln, and was March 20, 1802, six Years old.' (1)
