The artists featured in this portfolio were chosen because they had some connection with Jesus College, for instance the works of Flanagan, Turnbull, Bellany, Irvin and McLean have been exhibited at the College, and Sir Eduardo Pailozzi was elected into an Honorary Fellowship of the college. Printed by Gresham Studio Ltd. Cambridge in an edition of 100, with 10 artist's proofs, 10 publisher's proofs, 2 G.S.L. Archive copies, 2 college exhibition copies and 2 printer's proofs All in very good condition. Very loosely stuck down to backing card, but easily removable.
§ Gwen Raverat (British, 1885-1957) Horses at night signed lower right "G Raverat" and inscribed with title lower left a hand-coloured woodblock print, in a white painted frame 14 x 19cm (5 x 7in) Under glass and with a little discolouration around the edge of the image and a little browning to the cream surround.
Natalia Sergeevna Goncharova (Russian, 1881-1962) Almond Blossom limited edition gouache au pochoir print on Arches paper, from an edition of approximately 25, circa 1916-1920 56 x 37cm (22 x 14in) Provenance: The Artist's studio, Paris; Mme. Alexandra Tomilina-Larionova, Paris; Private Collection. Literature: Another of the present pochoir prints from this series is reproduced in Dr Anthony Parton's book 'Goncharova: The Art and Design of Natalia Goncharova' (pub July 2010 by Antique Collectors' Club Ltd ) p. 280, pl. 345. The painting on which the pochoir was based is also reproduced in this same book, p. 478, pl. 624 and is in the collection of Jack Wakefield. The present pochoir print comes from a very small limited edition, and as such they are rarely seen on the market. Because these are gouache au pochoir, each print in the edition is slightly different to the others. The designs are the same, but the difference lies in the intensity of the inks and the different ways in which the ink has been applied through the stencil. None of the prints in this edition are signed or numbered
Natalia Sergeevna Goncharova (Russian, 1881-1962) A Rayist design for the Diaghilev staging of the ballet "Le coq d'or" signed lower right with initials"NG" limited edition gouache au pochoir print, circa 1916-1919, from an edition of approximately 25 51 x 31cm (20 x 12in) Provenance: The Artist's studio, Paris; Mme. Alexandra Tomilina-Larionova, Paris; Private Collection. Literature: The present pochoir print is reproduced in Dr Anthony Parton's book 'Goncharova: The Art and Design of Natalia Goncharova' (pub July 2010 by Antique Collectors' Club Ltd ) as a full-plate colour image, p. 252, pl. 301. Other Notes: A lovely Rayist design for the Diaghilev staging of the ballet Le coq d'or. This is one of a limited edition of gouache au pochoir prints. The works are executed on a folded sheet, folded size 51x31,5cm , image size 29x19.5cm. The edition was limited to approximately 25. A few examples of these pochoir prints were offered at Sotheby's in the1980s/1990s and since then only a few have been seen on the private market. The approximate date of execution can be established because some of these pochoirs were distributed at a charity soirée, 'Chants et Ballets Russes' held at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Paris, on Monday 8th December 1919 in aid of the French Hospital relief effort to Russia Unframed. Colours fresh and good.
§ After Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989) 'Narcissus Telephonans Inundis' inscribed lower left "EA" and bears signature in pencil lower right lithograph Condition in general is fine. A litle fading overall to the paper. Some minor surface scratches to the print. An Arches France blind stamp on the mount lower left
Roni Horn (American, b.1955) To Nest digital ink-jet print in colours, published by Counter Editions 2001, numbered 22/100 verso 40½ x 60cm (16 x 23in) Condition in general is fine. There is some dirt and old tape marks on the glass. The tacking tape/glue fixing the print to the mount is visible at the corners. There is some very minor scuffing to the edges of the print but this is not very noticeable.
Ernest Mountaut (French, 1879-1936) Turcat-Méry cars, possibly racing in the 1904 Gordon Bennett Cup signed lower right within the print "E Mountaut" hand-coloured lithograph 28 x 80cm (11 x 31in) Other Notes: In May 1903 Henri Louis Rougier finished in 11th place in the Paris-Madrid race driving a 45 hp Turcat-Méry. He was also classified 9th in the heavy car class. On 17 June 1904 Rougier competed in the Gordon Bennett Cup race in Germany driving an 80 hp Turcat-Méry, finishing in third place. Rougier was victorious in the 1911 Monte Carlo rally, coming first place driving a Turcat-Méry 25 hp. The front grilles depicted in the present lithograph correlate with photographs of Turcat-Méry taken in 1904. Without glass. A little loose in the frame. Paper is browned
*Visions of Speed: The Art of R. A. Nockolds. Eleven (of 12) Artist's Proofs of Roy Nockolds' work prepared for a Private Edition of only 250 printed (850 copies planned), of an album published by Thackwell & Company, in 1999, the images were produced from the original glass plates on which Nockolds' recorded his studio work and are printed on high quality laid art paper. All of the prints are marked 'Proof' in pencil in the lower margin together with full titles, and nine of the eleven are also shown as hand-painted (by either Niki Hayles or Wayne Burrows). The only missing print is Number 16 (Road Race), the remaining pages in the complete volume of 28 leaves being text or photographs. Loosely contained in the front and back covers of what would have been the final publication, each of the dark grey hardback cloth covers (decorated with a repeated triangular winner's flag design), measuring the same size as the prints, 12 x 21in (31 x 53cm), the prints are all in pristine condition (1)

The Patterson Book: 150 Line Drawings, 1st edition paperback, Temple Press, Summer, 1948, covers worn, pages browning with age, otherwise clean and sound; The Second Patterson Book, First Edition hardback in board covers, Temple Press, November 1952, lacks the dust-jacket, vertical tear to the half-title, the first and last few leaves foxed, but otherwise sound, a very good copy of The Patterson School of Etching, a 16-page cord-tied illustrated pamphlet with brown card covers, together with its original dispatch envelope, and a box and lid, measuring approximately 18 x 15 x 1 ins, and containing 20 copies of a large format Patterson print entitled 'The Record Man' from a print run limited to 250 copies, a large quantity of a smaller format Patterson print with the title "Good Luck!", a small selection of other Patterson prints, and other miscellaneous colour prints, mainly of hobby horse subjects (with duplicates) (a quantity)
