AFTER HENRY ALKEN "Newmarket Training", "Ipswich Weighing", "Epsom Running" and "Ascot Heath Preparing to Start", a set of four engravings by Sutherland CONDITION REPORTS These appear to be original impressions not restrikes. Possibly with some later colouring, no date. Script to base reads "Painted by Alken London, published by R Ackermann at his Eclipse Sporting Gallery, 191, Regent Street", engraved by Sutherland and then with the title below - see images of "Training" for idea of condition and foxing and later colouring. This possibly the worst example but others with similar degree of foxing. Areas of loss to the guilt on the inner frame of all prints, extensive foxing on all prints, areas of discolouration and fading and staining on all prints. The New Market Training print has no glass in frame. All frames have numerous surface scratches, dents to the wood. See pictures for details. All picturs are the same width and height 75.5cm wide x 31cm high x 2cm deep
