Lewis Wickes Hine [1874-1940, Winsconsin, USA] The following six gelatin-silver contact prints come from the glass negatives of the Survey of Child Labour Conditions in America, undertaken by Hine for The National Child Labor Committee between 1908 and 1917. Their provenance is from Lunn Gallery Graphics International Ltd. See Lunn Gallery Catalogue 5, Washington 1976, note to item 115. These prints were amongst the duplicates acquired by the Lunn Gallery from the George Eastman House Collection. Lewis Wickes Hine [1874-1940, Winsconsin, USA]- George, a worker in a Cotton Mill vintage gelatin-silver print:- image 11.5 x 8.5cm, sheet size 17 x 12cm. Inscribed and initialled by Hine on the reverse of the print 'George, a worker in a cotton Mill. Mother said he had just reached 11 years and has been working on and off for over a year. He makes 5.50 dollars a week. father works in Mill, April 1913. F.W.H'
