It played such a huge part of my life and when I became a musician there was no greater achievement than holding your record for the first time, taking out the inner and holding the vinyl itself, looking at the shiny virgin surface and the checking the scratch in, then the care of placing it on the player and listening to your finished work. God it's giving me goosebumps now!"

He was very traditional, such a lover of Christmas, and as I found out after his death, quite religious. I suppose if Pete Saville was late they could always use it for next year?"
