Queen Caroline: a previously unrecorded nursery plate by Moore & Co moulded with flower head border and printed in black with a view of Villa d'Este, Caroline and her supporters in a boat on the lake in the foreground, impressed mark, 189mm diameter, minor hairline crack. Reference to another print of this scene, Commemorative Pottery, plate 58, reveals various significant variations. Godden states that this is the earliest impressed mark used by Samuel Moore from 1803 onwards
