Buffalo Bills Wild West Earls Court, London original advertising poster from 1892, Printed by Stafford & Co Netherfield, Nottingham measuring 20 x 30 inch. We have a letter of provenance that this poster was brought home by a Stafford & Co. Employee Keith Flower. The Wild West came to West London for this the first season in 1892 - the date of the poster. The show was very popular and was visited by the Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales and even William Gladstone! Included was the International Horticultural exhibition complete with pleasure gardens and a large band stand. This poster has very vivid colours including gold leaf. Archivally repaired closed tears including a horizontal tear along the fold line from side to side and a vertical tear running mainly along the fold line from top to bottom except for 7 inches towards the bottom where it runs off the fold line. There are several small repaired closed border tears and grease spots to the bottom right corner. (no paper loss) A very fine and rare poster. Plus Buffalo Bills Wild West Earls Court show. Lot further includes a 1985 British Composers Royal Mail First Day Cover and a framed complete set (25) of 1930s Player's cigarette cards of famous females.
