Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire mahogany cased 12 inch fusee clock lettered on the original dial W. McFerran M.S. & L No 723 Manchester. With a large A frame chain driven English fusee movement in cleaned condition the Mahogany case has the original side flap door , bottom door secured with a ring pull catch and spun brass bezel. In working condition complete with pendulum and key. Circa 1870.
A Chinese Hardwood Altar Table, late 19th/early 20th century, of rectangular form with scrolled ends above a decorative frieze with scrolled brackets and humpback stretchers, on square form legs with carved feet joined by stretchers, 199cm by 41cm by 87cm. Generally good condition and colour. Structurally sound. The top with general scratches and ring marks consistent with age. Very minor shrinkage split around the moulded top (hardly visible). 091019
A Matched Set of Eight Mid 19th Century Yewwood and Elm-Seated Windsor Armchairs, one stamped Nicholson Rockley, each with low double spindle back supports and pierced splats above curved armrests and spindle turned supports, with elm moulded seats and ring turned legs joined by a crinoline stretcher, 58cm by 43cm by 91cm See illustration. Chair 1 - structurally sound. Some old decay under seat. Some glue marks around legs. Stamped Nicholson Rockley. Chair 2 - structurally sound. Some old decay around splat. Left hand arm with small peg repair. Small natural splits in seat. Chair 3 - slight movement in frame. Small fault/repair under arm support above spindle support. Crinoline stretcher with glue/repair marks at the rear section. Chair 4 - back support is damaged. Chair 5 - structurally sound. Rear left leg with small fill hole above crinoline stretcher. Chair 6 - slight movement in framework. Numerous scuffs and faults around legs and feet. Seat with some very small minor natural splits. Chair 7 - some very slight movement in joints. Heavy decay to legs, particularly rear left leg which has been ebonised. Rear right foot also retipped. Chair 8 - structurally sound. Some fill holes/polishing around the curved back support between the spindles. Elm seat split towards front which has been partly filled and polished. All chairs a good colour. 041019

A Rare Walnut Seaweed Marquetry Quarter Chiming Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed David Hubert, Londini, Fecit, circa 1710, caddied pediment with ivory and tortoiseshell inlaid finials, blind fret side panels, elaborate seaweed marquetry inlay depicting floral and scroll decoration, trunk with a glass lenticle, trunk sides with inlaid rectangular panels, plinth with bun shaped feet, 12-inch square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring signed, matted dial centre with a seconds dial, date aperture, three ringing winding holes, five pillar triple weight driven movement with an anchor escapement, quarter chiming on a nest of six bells and striking the hours on a further bell, 262cm high see illustrations David Hubert is recorded as an eminent maker working at the Strand in London in the early 18th century. He was admitted to the Clockmakers' Company in 1714 and became master of the Clockmakers' Company in 1743. Some of his work are exhibited in some of the important collections such as the well known Ilbert and Buckley collections. 11.10.19 Top caddy has been later added, side panels with fret work missing, case with chips and small cracks in parts, hood door glass is cracked, hood with chips to the column capitals, trunk door is slightly bowed, later glass lenticle, re-built plinth, dial is discoloured, movement needs cleaning, with pendulum and three weights.
