Stephen Norris, Normandey (sic), An 18th-century eight-day musical chiming, burr walnut long-cased clock, the arch of the dial with silent indicator and four choices of chime from the carillon of nine bells, the strike on a further bell, the silvered chapter ring enclosing a moon phase dial and a date aperture. The case for this clock is bespoke made by cabinet maker Derek Mabutt (freeman of London)the musical movement plays every 4 hours for approx 2-minute durations.It is understood that Stephen Norris originated in Abingdon as a clockmaker. He later moved to Normandy (Guilford, Surrey) and later still moved to the Netherlands.
