A 20th Century Walnut Cased Mantel Timepiece of Late 17th Century Design, retailed by The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company Ltd., London, No. 439966, the 4.5ins square brass dial with narrow silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, to the single train movement contained in walnut case with pagoda top and on flat bun feet, 9.5ins highCondition reportExternally the clock appears to be in good overall condition showing no obvious sign of damage or previous repair. The bun feet are present and appear original, the front door hinges appear original, likewise the glass, the door opens and closes correctly. The rear door has some discolouration to the fretwork but no apparent damage, the door hinges appear original and again the door opens and closes correctly. The mechanism and its supports appear to be original, the dial is in good condition showing only slight tarnish commensurate with age and usage. No visible sign of damage or restoration. Both keys are present. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested.

Moore...March 1950"Condition ReportThe case appears to be in overall good condition showing only slight edge knocks to the pediment, the front glass is intact and appears to be original likewise the two side glasses. The dial is original and appears to unrestored and is showing patination of age and general usage, the hands appear original. The clock has a brass plate to the front and is inscribed ' To W. Moore from Major, the Honourable H R Broughton to mark many happy years spent in close associate in the growing of orchids at Bakeham House, Englefield Green, Surrey, March 1950'. The key is present and the clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested.
