Late War Issue WW2 Japanese Type 30 Arisaka Bayonet, fine example of a late war produced Japanese bayonet for the Arisaka rifle with two piece wooden grips, squared steel pommel, straight cross guard with muzzle ring. The bayonet is housed in its original painted wooden / bamboo scabbard with two rings. Un-marked late war style blade with sharpened edge. Overall a good example.

Housed in an original leatherette box with Wurttemberg coat of arms to the centre, this box is normally for the Charlotte cross, but was acquired by the vendor in this case.

Housed in a presentation black leatherette case with the interior being scooped out to fit the award. Original medal ribbon housed to the interior lid of the case. Superb example overall.

1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class in Deluxe Case of Issue, good example of a 1914 Iron Cross 2nd class with a “H” stamp to the ring. The cross retains much of the original finish and is housed in an original private purchase deluxe case of issue. The lid of the case has card decoration mounted in the form of Iron Cross motif and ribbon in the German national colours. Interior of the case with scoped out section for the cross and the medal ribbon mounted to the interior of the lid. Overall a very nice deluxe example.

1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class in Deluxe Casing, good example of a standard 1914 Iron Cross 2nd class with its original ribbon. The award is housed in a deluxe leather case with the top of the lid being glazed and a stand placed in the back so it can be stood up and displayed. Reverse of the case stamped ‘ges gesch’. Medal ring stamped ‘KO’.

WW1 German Landsturm Infantry Battalion Marked Enlisted Ranks Bread Bag, fine example of a typical WW1 period German bread bag, made from canvas cloth. Complete with the belt loops and front ring for the fitting of the water bottle. Underside of the flap has a stitched name label, but the details are not clear, under this is a ink stamping for a Landsturm Infantry Battalion and company (Kompanie) marks. Internal brown leather securing strap still present and small brass buttons. Rear of the bag with leather enforcement tabs having steel “D” ring fittings. Overall shows some wear but a good example.

Blade measures 77 ½ cms, overall 95cms.

Black celluloid covered grip with original wire binding and gilt metal cipher. Housed in its original black finished scabbard with single hanging ring. Un-marked single edge blade with double fullers. Gilt wash from the exterior fittings now absent and small section of celluloid missing from grip.

Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Chromolit Solingen, good example with brown wooden handle having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. The grip has a repair to the bottom corner. Lower cross guard is stamped with gau mark ‘Nm’. Housed in its scabbard with single hanging ring. Polished blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’. Reverse of the blade has makers trade mark of Chromolit Solingen. Blade has been polished and shows some wear, but is a scarce maker for the SA dress dagger.

Plated grip mounts. Housed in its original scabbard with nickel silver fittings. Single hanging ring to the top scabbard mount. Small area of denting to the lower ball mount of the scabbard. Very good condition double edged blade having the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’, reverse side with RZM M7/1/38 trade mark for Gebrüder Christians, Christianswerk, Solingen. Good example overall.

Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Edward Wüsthof Dreizackwerk, Solingen, untouched example with dark wood grip having enamel SA device and aluminium eagle. Plated grip mounts. Housed in its original scabbard with single hanging ring to the top mount. Double edged blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’, reverse side with trademark RZM M7/19/1938. Some surface staining to the blade but generally a good example.

WW2 German Army Officers Sword Emil Voos Pattern, with gilded aluminium hilt, having langet with outstretched winged eagle and the nucklebow having down winged German army eagle and swastika. Dove head pommel and backstrap with pattern relief. Black celluloid grip with the wire binding now absent. Remains of a leather sword portepee (knot) present. Housed in its original scabbard with single hanging ring. Slightly curved plain single edged blade with fuller to the back edge. Some wear to the gilding and some light surface staining to the blade but generally a good example. See page 126 of the book ‘Swords of Germany 1900/1945’ by John R Angolia, for attribution of this pattern sword to this maker.

Scarce WW2 German Army Officers Sword F. W. Höller Model Nr7, untouched example with gilt brass hilt having the langet with crusader sword, knucklebow with relief of oakleaves, plain dove head top and the back strap has oakleaves and national eagle with swastika. Rear of langet engraved with the initials of the original owner, ‘W D’. Black celluloid covered grip with wire binding, however this has become loose in sections. Housed in its original scabbard with single hanging ring. Slightly curved polished single edged blade with fuller to the back edge. Under the langet is makers mark for F.W. Höller Solingen. Untouched example with patina to hilt and some surface rusting to the scabbard.

WW2 German Army Officers ‘Prinz Eugen’ Pattern Sword by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, untouched as found example with gilded aluminium hilt, stylised eagle cross guard, knucklebow with relief of oakleaves, pommel with down winged German army pattern eagle and swastika. Black celluloid covered grip with wire binding. Housed in the original scabbard with single hanging ring. Slightly curved polished blade with fuller to the back edge. Carl Eickhorn Solingen makers mark to the underside of the langet. Blade tip has been shortened and rounded. Scabbard with some wear and rusting, hilt with some wear to the gilt wash and some movement.

WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Deluxe Pattern Hangers by Ernst Pack & Sohne Waffenfabrik, Solingen, white celluloid grip with loose wire binding. Pommel with swastika to the centre of each side, cross guard in the form of eagle in flight. Housed in its original scabbard with two hanging rings. Velvet backed brocade hanging straps with deluxe fittings having oakleaves relief. Attached to the straps is the additional brown leather hanging strap attachment with ‘D’ ring fitting. Fine double edged blade with large Siegfried Waffen Ernst Pack & Sohne Waffenfabrik, Solingen makers trademark. Couple of small spots to the blade but generally very good blade, the exterior shows some wear and light areas of oxidisation.

1939 Knights Cross of the Iron Cross by Steinhauer & Luck, fine example of a Knights Cross with much of the original frosted silver finish to the award frame. Nearly all of the finish remains to the centre of the award. Non-magnetic centre. Frame stamped ‘800’ under the ring. Flaw in the frame between the 6 and 9 o’clock arms, associated with the ‘B’ type frames, also the dented row. Award loop has the rounded ends. Accompanied by a piece of Knights Cross medal ribbon. WW2 German Afrikakorps (D.A.K) 1942 Soldiers Ring, superb example of a white metal ring probably made in North Africa or possibly Italy. The centre with fine quality engraving showing a swastika in centre of the sun with palm tree and desert scene. Pattern engraved to the arms. No markings visible.

Luftwaffe Bomber Pilot Oberst Joachim Helbig Gold Presentation Ring, Given for Being the 20th Recipient of the Knights Cross with Oakleaves and Swords on 28th September 1942, fine quality personal ring produced in gold with hallmarks to the rear. Centre section shows a Luftwaffe eagle with “20” besides, an engraved inscription is around the band, however this has worn and is not legible in places. Interior section is engraved with his details when he was at the rank of Hauptman and the presentation date of 28.9.1942. Accompanying the ring is a wartime postcard photograph of Helbig in Luftwaffe uniform with a clear blue ink signature to the bottom. Joachim Helbig was born on 10th September 1915. He joined the Luftwaffe in 1936 and served for the majority of the war with Demonstration Wing Nr 1 (Lehrgeschwader 1 (LG 1)). He served with distinction as a Bomber pilot during the campaigns in Poland, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, France and the Battle of Britain in 1940. For his contributions to this campaign, he was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross in late 1940. Helbig then transferred to the Mediterranean campaign and was involved in the bombing of the fortress island of Malta, the British Mediterranean fleet and flew in support of Rommel’s Afrikakorps. It was for his service during Rommel’s campaign in the desert that Helbig became the 20th recipient of the Knights Cross with Oakleaves and Swords. After the awarding of the Knights Cross with Oakleaves and Swords, Helbig was removed from frontline duty and assigned to a staff role. He was later put back into combat missions, when he was heavily involved in the Luftwaffe air operation against the allies in Italy, before being moved to France after the Normandy invasion. His last posting was to the Eastern Front, where he was tasked with flying bombing missions to destroy the bridges over the Oder River to try and halt the advancing Red Army. In May 1945, Helbig surrendered to the American Forces. After the war Helbig pursued a civilian career and worked as a manager for a brewery in Berlin. He died in a motoring accident in Spain on 5th October 1985. Other notable awards bestowed on Helbig include the 1st and 2nd class Iron Cross, Al Valore Militare and the Ehrenpokal (Honour Goblet) for Outstanding Achievement in the Air.

The shank and gallery have wear where the ring has been worn with another ring.
