A French Model 1777 "Charleville" Flintlock Musket, Corrected Year IX, the 103cm round steel barrel faintly marked to the left side of the breech C de 178 and 77, the lock plate engraved Mre.R. de Tulle and stamped with a crowned C within a diamond, with ring neck cock and detachable brass frizzen pan, the walnut full stock with two steel barrel bands (central band missing) with slots for spring clips (missing), the fore barrel band incorporating a steel blade sight and ramrod pipe, the steel trigger guard with finger grooves to the tang and a sling swivel, the shouldered butt with a cut-out cheekpiece to the left side and faintly stamped 1599/8 8 2, the steel side plate stamped C within a diamond, with steel butt plate and ramrod, 141.5cmStrong action works, holds at full and half cock. Fine grey pitting to metalwork. Spring clips for securing barrel bands are missing, as is the central barrel band. Repairs to the stock behind the lock. Minor bruising to the butt.

Brown patina to the steel work. Rust pitting to the barrel and bore. Bruising to the stock with two fine cracks to the underside and a further crack leading from the breech of the barrel to the right hand screw of the side plate and towards the grip.
An Imperial Russian Model 1881 Type Shashka, the 80.5cm single edge steel blade with two narrow fullers to the back edge, one side of the blade engraved with the Russian double headed eagle, the opposing side with two cyrillic marks at the ricasso, the brass stirrup hilt with ring pierced downward scroll quillon, diagonally ribbed ebony grip and brass mounted black leather scabbard, 95cmFootnote : - The vendor's grandfather was a Lieutenant with the Royal Naval Reserve in the First World War, working with the White Russians to protect supplies falling into German or Bolshevik hands. The Royal Navy seized the Russian cruiser Askold from the Bolsheviks in Kola Bay in 1918. The cruiser was then commissioned as HMS Glory IV (nicknamed Packet of Woodbines due to its five very thin funnels). The aforementioned Lieutenant was on board the ship from 19th November 1918 until 30th April 1919, and acquired the sword at this time.

Some wire binding missing from the grip. Leather scabbard needs oiling and has stitch loss to the seam and lacking its chape.The leather service scabbard is missing its locket and the chape is rust pitted.

Minor bruising to the stocks. One pistol has a fine diagonal crack running from the fore-end tip.
