A mid 20th century certified colour change sapphire cluster, the oval cut sapphire (stated as 4.62 carats) within a border of twelve round cut diamonds, set within a white metal coronet style mount leading to yellow metal under bezel and plain polished band, stamped '18ct & Plat' ring size M, total diamond weight estimated 1.20 carats, with 'The Gem & Peal Laboratory' certificate stating the sapphire to be of Sri Lankan origin, no evidence of heat treatment, carat size 4.62 carats (9.8 x 8.0 x 6.7mm) blue in daylight and purple in incandescent light Condition report:  Sapphire has dark crystal inclusions, two phase inclusions and colour zoning (with x10 loupe) There is a minor chip to the girdle of the sapphire. Settings are in good condition. Diamonds are a variety of colours and clarity, with one significantly drawing colour. The mount with minor surface scratches and blemishes, commensurate with being worn. Shank shows no obvious signs of thinning or repair

Lot 40

A pair of Victorian silver mounted opera glasses, 'EL' Birmingham 1882, the floriate embossed glasses, 6.5cm high, within a fitted leather case with wooden backed hinged lid (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The glasses are working and can be focussed, however the focus mechanism is loose and appears to be lacking a section at the base.  As a result the eyecup lenses do not retract into the barrels without manual manipulation.  The focus ring shows a full depth split, but remains functional.  The brass eye cups show some dents, and the silver barrel sleeves show surface wear and polish residue throughout.  The leather case shows heavy wear to the exterior, and deterioration and losses to the interior lining.

A Coalport part dinner service in the 'Hong Kong' pattern, comprising: a coffee pot and cover, a sucrier and cover, a cream jug, a sugar bowl, six coffee cans and saucers, and nine dinner plates, 27cm diameter, with further Coalport tea wares in the 'Ming Rose' pattern, and a selection of Wedgwood coffee wares in the 'Marguerite' pattern (Qty) CONDITION REPORT:Coalport Hong Kong: All pieces show minor surface wear, the odd small scratch, minor rubbing to the gilt highlights, the odd small glazing fault and the odd small gilding fault.  The coffee pot shows a small glazing fault to the underside of the spout, and a further small glazing fault to the underside of the cover.  The sucrier shows a minor glazing fault to the underside of the cover.  The coffee cans and saucers show the odd small pit and frit to the foot rims.  All ring when pinged.  The dinner plates show more extensive surface scratches including to the gilt, the odd firing frit, and the odd glazing fault (including to the foot rims).

An Edinburgh Crystal decanter and stopper, modelled as an inverted thistle, the hobnail cut shoulders above a flared body with etched thistle motif, applied makers labels, 31cm high, with a similarly designed Edinburgh Crystal ships decanter and stopper, 27cm high, and six conforming thistle bowled liquer glasses CONDITION REPORT:All pieces show minor surface wear and the odd very small nibble to the occasional high point, but no obvious chips or cracks.  The glasses all ring when pinged.

Some minor splits to the veneer on the winder side of the cabinet, evidence of restoration and historic woodworm to the rear plinth ( please see additional images).Mechanism works and plays a disc when operated however this cannot be taken as a guarantee of working conditionDiscs are 40cm / 15 1/2", mechanism continues to play until  unwound  Video of Polyphon playing is available by request
