19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY SHAVING STAND WITH CIRCULAR BEVELLED MIRROR, above moulded two section platform on a ring turned gun barrelled support with out swept moulded legs. Circa 1885. 67"/ 170cm high. CONDITION REPORT: Generally very dry, stained and unloved, but appearing basically sound.
18TH CENTURY STAINED PINE THIRTY HOUR COTTAGE LONG CASE CLOCK marked William Coulton, York, having flat moulded cornice over square aperture flanked by moulded pilasters, tall arch waist door on panel base. Brass face with foliate mask spandrels and silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals and date aperture. Thirty hour movement striking on one bell. The face 10.5" square, overall 84" high approx. CONDITION REPORT: The face overall grubby and a little dry. Includes weight and pendulum head but no pendulum shaft.

A very unusual 19th century papier-mache Tree Ring and bark effect circular snuff box. 9cm DiameterPart of the Michael Shrubb (1934-2013) collection of snuff boxes. Michael Shrubb was a renowned ornithologist and author who investigated the effects of farming on British birds. He was born at Sidlesham near Chichester and in 1968 he moved to Llanwrtyd Wells in Wales and later to Aberdovey on the Welsh coast. For many years he edited Welsh bird report and Welsh birds and in 2012 he received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Welsh ornithological Society. He was a co-founder of the Sussex Ornithological Society and served as a council member of the RSPB and of The British Trust for Ornithology.
