dating: first quarter of the 20th Century provenance: East Asia, Single-edged blade with double groove, with metallic ring-nut, cylindrical, wooden, lacquered grip, cap in material of Japanese shakudo type. Wooden scabbard, carved with a horse whip's haft, with a segment covered with braided bands and remains of decorated ideogram. The whip in braided, leather bands. Probably Japanese. length dagger 35,5 cm.

A George III mahogany wine table, with circular tray top, raised on a baluster turned column and tripod cabriole legs with pad feet, the top 11in. (28cm.) diameter, 21in. (53.5cm.) high.* Condition: There is a section of the rim around the top that has been broken out and replaced, this is a semicircular section 2 1/2 in wide at the top.One of the legs has been broken off in the past taking with it a section of the column base extending 1 1/2 in. up above the lower turned ring the circular ogee edged disc which fixes the top to the column has a section of its edge broken and reaffixed this is approx. 3/4 in. deep at the widest point.

A mid-19th century mahogany low clothes press by Gillows of Lancaster, the thumb moulded top over three shallow frieze drawers, over two banks of four graduated drawers with brass ring handles, flanking a pair of panelled cupboard doors, one signed 'Gillows Lancaster', the interior fitted with slides and drawers, 77in. (195.5cm.) wide, 22in. (55.75cm.) deep, 49in. (124.5cm.) high.
