An early George III mahogany and brass strung Lazy Susan, concentric ring decoration, wavy edge, 20cm diameter; a George III mahogany small tray, ribbon and floral carved edge, 18.5cm diameter; and a 19th century oversized library magnifying or 'quizzing' glass, framed in oak, later walnut handle, 25cm diameter (3) Condition Report: Lazy susan- replacement screw- mild loss to edge, faint shrinkage crack Tray- looks to have been either constructed in 2 sections- or broken and very skilfully repaired- small marks to base suggesting it may have been adapted in part Glass- slight chip visible to one side edge, approx 1cm wide, 4mm high, some shrinkage to frame, handle almost certainly later Condition Report Disclaimer
Medieval Brooch. Circa, 14th century AD. Copper-alloy, 9.94 g, 31.94 mm. An annular brooch of robust construction complete with original pin. The ring has four raised turrets that would have originally been set with glass or garnets. Ref: Egan & Pritchard, Dress Accessories, 1150-1450. p.253.

Clasped Hands Ring. Circa, 16th century. Silver, 2.20 g, 21.85 mm. UK ring size: S. US ring size: 9. A very nice example of its type with well formed hands and punched decoration on each side of the band. Although complete and undamaged the piece has an old solder repair to the base of the shank. From an Essex jewellery collection.
Medieval Ring. Circa, 12th-13th century AD. Silver, 24mm x 16mm x 5mm (distorted hoop), 3.0g. A scarce type of finger ring, detailed on each shoulder with a cross or saltire within a square panel. The bezel is formed of a larger square panel with an engraved centre depicting a cross. Ref: Mills, Medieval Artefacts. p.52. fig. NM132. From a UK Private collection, originally found in Bedfordshire 1992.
Medieval Gold Seal Ring. Circa, 13th century AD. Gold, 3.9 grams. 21mm, bezel, 16mm. A circular band with large oval bezel set with an intaglio of dark green colouration-possibly chalcedony and likely to be of Roman date and depicting the god Mars walking left holding a spear and trophy. Engraved around the bezel is an inscription in Medieval Latin: (crescent) NVNCIE.VERA.TEGO. This is perhaps translatable as: I hide the true message, probably an allusion to the role of a seal matrix in securing correspondence and attributing it to the seal's owner. Provenance: found Coldharbour, Buckinghamshire, early 1980s. Processed under Treasure Trove-ref. 2019T655. Ring size: UK S.
Medieval Gold Ring Circa, 15th century AD. Gold, 8.1 grams. 21mm x 8mm. A stunning example of medieval jewellery, A stirrup-shaped ring detailed with scale / petal like decoration in moulded relief. The band widens slightly at the bezel which has two sunken settings, one has retained its original sapphire, the other is missing. The other setting would have housed a stone likely to have been a Ruby or Emerald. Ref: For similar rings see, C.C. Oman. Victoria & Albert Museum Catalogue of Rings, 1930. plate. 10-11. Medieval Archer's Ring. Circa, 13th-14th century AD. Copper-alloy, 42mm x 31mm diameter (25mm internal) x 9mm. A flat sectioned hoop with a triangular flanged extension forming the face of the ring. Decorated with a border formed of diagonal lines enclosing a lozenge and flower motifs.
Exceptional Post Medieval Signet Ring. Circa, 17th century AD. Gold, 20.54 grams. 26.40mm x 25.90mm x 5.80mm. Bezel, 15.70mm x 17.80mm. A heavy, large and very rare swivelling bezel signet ring. One face of the swivelling bezel features the arms of the Curwen family of Workington Hall, Cumberland: Argent, fretty gules. A chief azure. The other face is engraved with the family crest: A unicorn’s head erased argent, armed or. The arms are charged with a cadency mark of a crescent, indicating a second son. The date of the ring suggests the second son would have been Thomas Curwen (after, 1602-1685), son of Sir Henry Curwen MP. (1528-1596). Thomas succeeded his elder brother Patricius Curwen, 1st Baronet in 1664. Discovered at Thornton, Buckinghamshire in 2018 and recorded by the British Museum before being returned to the finder and landowner (Treasure reference 2018 T82). Ring size: UK X+1/2.
Gold Posy Ring. A D-shaped band inscribed on the inside with the verse, "Good will is above gold" and stamped with a makers mark, W.H. with a motif above. Most likely from the London maker, William Hunter. Circa 1743. Circa 18th century, 20mm x 3mm, 2.8g. From an Essex Jewellery collection. Ring size: UK P+1/2.
