A 20th c. Mahogany Bureau with plain top over a carved quarter veneered fall revealing six pigeonholes, small drawer and faux leather insert, the frieze drawers beneath flanked by automatic lopers over a lower flight of two drawers, all with carved fronts and metal plate ring handles and standing on cabriole legs, 29'' wide x 39'' high x 16 1/2'' deep.
A most unusual Novelty Timepiece being a spheroid weight clock by ''Thwaites & Reed Limited, established 1740, this being clock number 696 in a world edition of only 1000 Spheroid weight clocks''. The balance wheel verge escapement having a 5 3/4'' diameter face with silvered chapter ring having Roman numerals driven by a number of ball bearings connecting their movement on a ramp to the top of the timepiece, passing round a slotted wheel and terminating their movement on a green baize lined surface to the base. The clock is 8 5/16'' square and 10 1/4'' high overall. With a little cleaning and attention the timepiece should again be functional and presentable. Leaflets referring are included with the clock.
A most attractive Rose veined Marble Bracket/Mantel Clock of French architectural design, the two train movement having Arabic numerals to a brass chapter ring, the nice quality brass mechanism striking the hours and half hours on a gong, the case having a dome, flanked to either side by three pillars, an upper ormolu frieze depicting in relief cherubs/puttoes hanging floral garlands whilst a similar lower frieze depicts a scene with figures on horseback and hounds hunting wild board. The movement numbered 3858 48 having a ''Marque Depose'' stamp, complete with winding and regulating keys. 12'' wide, 6'' deep x 13 1/2'' high approx.
