Enfield Percussion cavalry carbine, 21 inch sighted barrel, with underside ramrod, the lockplate stamped with crown VR and 1869 date, the stock with saddle ring bar and various military acceptance stamps. Section 58(2) antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, photo ID will be required if this lot is to be posted out.93cm long The gun is in outward good general condition but it has had an old refinish during its life. The bore has some heavy pitting marks, the gun is .650 calibre smooth bore. The action works correctly with a strong spring. The stock has quite a few dents, marks and stains. It is a little chewed up around the nose cap by the muzzle. The toe of the stock has a spliced piece, this was probably done during manufacture as several other Enfields have been seen built in this manner. The stock has been refinished, this work has left some of the marks lighter in the stamping than they should be. There is a short crack to the stock emanating out from the lock plate but this looks stable.

Potsdam 1809 pattern .750 flintlock musket, 41inch barrel bearing 1817 date at the breech secured by three brass sprung bands to match the rest of the brass furniture, the butt plate unit marked '84, 4,R, 12 C' the action with ring necked cock, fitted with brass pan and steel pan flash shield. The lock works correctly with a strong spring, the half cock position does not feel as positive as it should do but the sear does hold the tumbler in the correct position. The bore has dark and furry with surface corrosion and would benefit from a good scrub out. The metalwork generally has some pitting and surface corrosion as well as some wear from a previous attempt to clean the gun up. The brass work has some light dents and marks as well as some signs of wear. The stock has been refinished in relatively recent history and does not have the age or wear marks that the rest of the gun has. One side nail that holds the lock in place is missing. The ramrod is a little too short for the barrel and is therefore probably a replacement. There are two patches towards the muzzle where masking tape has been bound round the gun. The purpose of this is unknown as it appears to have no structural affect on the gun.

The bore has some dark marks on the lands. These are mainly found in the second half of the bore and look like copper fouling or build-up but these marks do not shift with a basic clean we can do at the saleroom and ideally the bore needs a deep scrub out. We cannot guarantee there are not corrosion marks underneath the copper residue. The majority of the bore looks good with crisp rifling just starting to soften slightly in the throat area. The crown looks in good order but there is some pitting marks to the polished face of the muzzle. The action functions smoothly and positively. The bolt face has a cartridge case ring mark t it and light primer pocket marks. Lot 415

Franchi 12 bore semi-automatic shotgun, serial number 056687, 28 inch barrel, three shot maximum capacity, Italian proof marks. UK SECTION 2 SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED. 14.75" LOP The gun is in average general condition. The worst fault is a slight ring bulge around the mid part of the barrel, this cannot be felt but can be seen with careful studying if sighting down the barrel. The gun is in proof still, and the bore is clean from pitting. The blacking has some wear and there are some light dotted corrosion spots scattered throughout. The action appears to function correctly however it will not cycle with snap caps. This is a common problem with some older semi autos but it does not allow us to guarantee the flawless running of the action as we have not tested the gun with live ammo. The finish has some scratches and marks but is largely good. The stock is free from splits or repairs.
