PAPA', slightly engraved and carved. Wooden full stock (a very small restoration) carved at the fore-end cap, checkered hand rest and grooved butt. Filigree inlays with floral motifs up to the center of the butt, checkering with stylized lilies. dating: 1864 - 1870 provenance: Belgium, Two over-and-under, 9 mm cal. barrels. Bore with visible rifling but with pitting and signs of use inside. Eighteen-shot cylinder, double-action working mechanism. Frame marked 'E. LEFAUCHEUX INV. BREVETE. Engraved with rocaille, webs and spirals. Folding trigger. Smooth, ebony grip scales. Ring for the strap. Various areas with evident pitting. Various numbering and remains of marks. Complete with an old holster (restored on the bottom). In 1864, Lefaucheux patented a large-capacity revolver to compete with Chaineux's, in the same year he bought the buildings to start the production in Liegi. See 'Les Revolvers a Broche' by J.P. Half wooden stock carved with floral motifs and grooved butt. Fine, bronze hilts with floral motifs and masks. Six-ken kusazuri with four plates lacquered en suite and with original Kebiki-odoshi in Kon-ito (complete with blue silk lacing). Complete with original, horn Kasa-kohaze. Sahai-no-kan with base shaped as a chrysanthemum (the ring holds the Sahai, the commander's stick). Collar with neck protection. dating: circa 1850 provenance: USA, Five-shot, swiveling, 31 cal. barrel/cylinder group provided with five ribs, signed 'Robbins & Lawrence Co', 'Windsor VT' and 'LEONARDS PATENT 1849', engraved with floral motifs at the base. Octagonal iron frame, with button to open the barrel/cylinder group at the top and insert the primers on the pistons. Visible firing pin inside, automatically rotating to the next position once a shot is fired. Ventilation holes on the two side bands, the rear part of the receiver made of iron, engraved en suite. Ring trigger loading and rotating the firing pin, the shot is fired by a stecher placed on the ring or by pressing a small button on the back of the butt. Wooden grips. Working mechanism. Worked as a single-and half-edge with a strongly pointed tip, the back with small carvings and notch decorations at the forte; tang strongly tapered at the first part and then widened again at the base forming two wings. Dark horn or ebony grip (crack on one side) decorated with longitudinal grooves. Brass ring nut and cap. Soft leather scabbard with metal mounts. Richly elaborated characters framed within architectural structures and floral decorations. With a small signature on one side, probably of the manufacturer. dating: 19th Century provenance: Austria, With curved, flat body, made of pressed cow horn. High-quality, gilded, brass mounts. Scaled stopper shaped as a snake's head holding the suspension chain in its jaws. Richly decorated, vase-shaped fuse, provided with a long, basal ring nut decorated with bands, rocaille, relieved decorations and wreaths of roses. The front side with a plaque worked in bas-relief, carved and shaped with a fine trophy of arms among laurel and oak branches. The hilt at the base worked in-relief en suite with the ring nut of the fuse. Two rings mounted on loops provided with a pierced base. Given the high-quality manufacturing, it was probably used for imperial parties. length total circa 24 cm.

dating: Late 15th Century provenance: Italy, Almost-cylindrical, iron barrel, slightly tapered towards the nozzle which is provided with moulded muzzle, a reinforcing ring at the centre. Breech with a larger diameter than the barrel, it is open to insert a chamber piece with its catch into the two side slots. The breech cracked on one side. In antique patina. See a model with a similar structure (but with an octagonal barrel) in 'Museo Poldi Pezzoli - Armeria II' (Electa, Milan, 1986), no. 916 with photos 1196-1198. The book documents also other samples kept both in Italian and foreign museums. length 156 cm.
dating: provenance: Europe, Cylindrical, iron head, provided with seven flanges with a border slightly cusped at the centre and lobed at the edges. The sides of the flanges decorated with pierced rosette and engraved outlines. At the top a small, spheroid button on a base shaped as a truncated cone. Hollow, iron shaft shaped as a truncated cone (almost cylindrical) in the upper segment and of octagonal section in the lower one, decorated with a twisted-worked ring at the girdle and with cap at the bottom, also twisted and button-shaped. Opening to insert a lace. Of good quality. A 16th-century original item or a fine 19th century copy? height 73,5 cm.
dating: 1847 provenance: Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, Curved and flat on both faces, made of pressed cow horn. Silver mounts. Fuse shaped as a truncated cone with basal ring nut decorated with relieved vine-shoots and with a lobed frame; stopper with elaborate grip and held by a chain to the fuse. The front side of the body with a fine trophy featuring a crowned eagle within a relieved, hunting horn on oak branches. The hilt at the base decorated with relieved leaves, with lobed frame, marked '13' (?), 'F. GHEDINA' and date '1847''. With the inscription 'Zu ehren des geburtsfestes Seine Majestät des kaisers gemeiner Giovanni Uber' at the bottom (In honour of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor, the Private Giovanni Uber).
