E. Manasse.Please note this piece was in the Royal Academy of Arts London International Exhibition of Chinese Art 1935-36. Having checked the Catalogue for this exhibition on the RA website it is evident that the piece was item number 1219, in Gallery VI, and on page 99 'Stoneware with ring patterns in brown and black glaze, Kian Ware, Di14.2cm, Sung Dynasty, Lent by John Warrack, LLD, Edinburgh'
Dollis Rollinson, Halton: A mid-18th Century mahogany 8-day longcase clock, the arched brass dial with a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring and subsidiary date aperture and seconds dial, the arch having a silvered boss engraved "Dollis Rollinson, Halton", the two train movement with anchor escapement, striking on a single bell, in a mahogany case, the hood with a swan neck pediment and gilt metal roundels, the glazed door flanked by turned capped columns, over a long waist door, chamfered edges, on a box base and bracket feet, 220cms high, with weights, no pendulum.
