A red stained wood Prince of Wales Investiture Chair, designed by Lord Snowdon, 1969, the back with gilt Prince of Wales crest and red wool foam padded seat, The investiture of The Prince of Wales, during which the 20-year-old Prince received the insignia as the 21st Prince of Wales from The Queen, took place on 1st July 1969, at Caernarfon Castle in front of four thousand guests inside the medieval walls. The Queen created her eldest son Prince of Wales when he was nine years old and later let it be known that the Investiture would be held when The Prince was old enough to understand fully its significance. In a ceremony with many historic echoes, which was directed largely by the Constable of the Castle, Lord Snowdon, The Queen invested The Prince with the Insignia of his Principality and Earldom of Chester: a sword, coronet, mantle, gold ring and gold rod." 82cm high, 55cm wide, 46.5cm deep In good condition, the padded seat cushion with a very slight mark, the extremities with some very minute wear. A Japanese carved ivory signed Okimono of a man collecting eggs (Meiji period, 1868-1912), the finely carved figure wearing a brocade robe tied at the waist with grass overskirt, his hair tied in the Samurai fashion, holding two eggs in his left hand and holding an open woven basket of eggs in his right hand, the oval base carved as a rush mat strewn with a sheaf of corn, the base with incised Kanji signature, a further small mark and an incised sheaf of corn" 24cm high In good condition with typical yellowing to the surface, minor fine age cracks and some some minor damages and loss. Household Cavalry State Trumpeter’s Ceremonial trumpet banner. A scarce Elizabeth II example. Ground of crimson damask silk with gold and silver embroidery depicting the Royal Arms to centre flanked by two winged angels and the whole encircled by floral inlaid bullion, the Crown flanked by ‘E’ and ‘R’. To each corner is a bullion Union device incorporating the Rose of England, the Thistle of Scotland the Shamrock of Ireland. The banner is edged with fine gold twisted thread fringe. The bullion and coloured silks remain bright and fresh, some green oxidisation to the d ring fittings, some twist tassels with faint green tinge, not effecting the overall appearance.

Victorian East Riding Constabulary Police Constables Painted Truncheon. A good clean bright example. The body of the truncheon with a black painted ground. This decorated with a crowned VR cypher with large gold initials below ‘E.R.C.’. Ring turned grip, the base stamped with the maker’s details of Parker 233 Holborn’. Decoration remains bright, near VGC.
King Christian X of Denmark diamond set cravat pin. A fine and rare late 19th century unmarked example being a crowned CRX cypher set with small diamonds. Housed in Ring & Cross Ltd cram silk and beige velvet lined fitted case. VGC, case with a little wear. Christian Carl Frederik Albert Alexander Vilhelm (26 September, 1870-20 April, 1947) was King of Denmark from 1912 to 1947.
Edwardian Chester Hallmarked Gold Miniature Navy Bosun’s Call Whistle. An extremely rare and fine quality miniature working gold Bosuns call, possibly made for a Page Boy of a Naval Wedding. The miniature is an exact copy of the full size, with anchors to the ball and engraving to the stem. Clear 9ct Gold Hallmarks for Chester 1904 and maker’s details of ‘R.J.’ (Possibly Robert William Jay Gold Smith Chester). The whistle is complete with original cord ring. Near VGC. Length 1 3/4 inches.

German Imperial Army Child’s Officer style schirmutze or peaked cap. A fine very small sized example, possibly used by a Page Boy for a Military Wedding. The body and crown of mid green with red cap band and piping to the welt of the crown; cap band retains silvered cockade with light blue ring, no evidence of having upper cockade; leather peak. The interior with fine leather sweatband and pleated cream silk lining with celluloid diamond silvered tailor’s details ‘MŸtzenfabrication Josef Weithmann, Hugsburg, Kaiserplaz 5.’ . Retains a good shape, VGC.
