A Chinese polychrome decorated vase with cracked ice and floral design, bears underglazed blue concentric ring mark (drilled as a table lamp), 47.5 cm high not including bayonet fixing CONDITION REPORTS Some surface scratches, accretions, wear to some of the decoration, a build up of dirt in areas. There is a large crack and old repair to the rim of the vase underneath the lamp fitting. The drill hole to the base has some chips around it. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use. A Chinese Kangxi baluster vase of stylised squash form, the main body blue and white decorated with birds amongst blossoming foliage, the cylindrical neck with bamboo bears underglazed blue and white concentric ring mark to base, 24.8 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Surface scratches to the vase. There is some staining on the inside. Small pinpricks and imperfections in the glaze. Some accretions etc. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use.
A pair of 19th Century Chinese rosewood urn stands of typical form, the circular dished tops above pierced frieze with scrolling foliate shoulders on scrollwork decorated supports united by a ring undertier, 43 cm diameter x 67 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Both stands with wear and tear conducive with age and use. Tops with discolouration and markings - see images. One (bearing Lot Number) with damage to two areas of the frieze with loss to the scrollwork. See images for further details. Overall construction appears sound.
A 19th Century rosewood drum table, the tooled and gilded leather insert top over frieze drawers, raised on a turned and ringed pedestal to splayed quadruped base, brass caps and castors, 107 cm diameter CONDITION REPORTS 74.5 cm. Four drawers work, others dummies. One drawer handle with wreath work ring missing.
A George III mahogany serving table, the segmented top of starburst form, cross-banded and with serpentine front, over a side frieze drawer, bearing stamp to the lock "Patent GR" beneath a crown, raised on fluted tapering supports to ringed and acanthus carved feet, 137 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Has worm, predominently to the back. Sections of moulding missing through out and various replacements. Generally has fading and ring marks etc to the top and apron. The top is bowed and has splits to the veneer. Whilst feet appear to be stylistically wrong, they have clearly been there some time, and they appear to be out of character and of a different wood, therefore may or may not be original. Has general wear and tear conducive to age and use. See images for more details.
An 18th Century walnut chest of two short on three long graduated drawers upon a base of three drawers with arched apron to four front waisted block feet 94 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Whilst basically sound, top with damage and loss to veneers in several areas (see images). Replacement sections of veneer, old worm damage (filled), front/drawer fronts with old wormholes (filled), handles stylistically correct though replacements, signs of further earlier replacement handles i.e. ring marks around present handles. Drawer linings repaired/replaced (see images). Base drawers - fronts appear original though remainder is repaired/replaced. Legs cut down, feet replacements, side panels with multiple cracks and repaired damage both sides (see images for further information). Back panels also possibly replacements though appear to have age. Suggest viewing in person prior to purchase.

A silver simpulum ladle with shallow bowl and flared rim, volute scrolls to the rim beside the flat handle with raised edges, scrolled upper and returned swan-head with ring-and-dot eyes. Cf. A gold ring comprising a D-section hoop with floral detailing, inscribed to the inner face in italics 'within thy breast my [heart] shall rest' with long 's' and ? for 'heart'; stamped capital 'R' unidentified maker's mark. A gold ring brooch with loop formed as acorns and oak leaves, the tongue tapered with acorn finial to the hinge; to the reverse, blackletter inscription '+pence de moy amor' which translates to 'Think of me, Love', with rosettes and leaves. A bronze hanging oil lamp comprising a central bowl and three radiating nozzles each with a flared rim and pierced lug to accept a suspension chain, three interstitial wings shaped like the prow of a galley with incised detailing, chains attached to a distributor ring. 17th-18th century AD. A carved translucent jade floral cup with basal ring, bowl formed as eight petals with everted rim. 258 grams, 12.3cm diameter (4 3/4"). Property of a Middlesex collector; acquired on the London art market before 2000; formerly in an old English collection. Dr. Bonewitz notes: 'Very nice jade, superb workmanship.' Very fine condition.
4th-3rd century BC. A bronze arm-ring with round-section tapering shank, everted terminals each formed as a beast-head with geometric and ring-and-dot detailing, clubbed end with slit forming the mouth; mounted on a custom-made stand. Very fine condition.
4th-2nd millennium BC. A group of eleven seals comprising six accompanied by typed and signed notes by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1933, which state: (R-14) 'Ring-Stone of Lapis, 11 x 8 x 3mm. This is oval with flat face and flat back with rounded edges at the back. the design shows a human seated as if on a curling snake and holding up a rod. This is reported to have come from west central Asia, which is most likely. This type is rare, and so difficult to date with certainty, but perhaps c. 1500-500 B.C. is correct.'; (R-417) 'Half a Gable Stamp Seal of Black Stone, 39 x 28 x 8mm. This shows a finely rendered standing stag with unidentified matter under its snout. This comes from Syria-Anatolia and dates to c. 4000-3400 B.C. It is a large and good quality depiction, but while the stag is virtually complete, the other half of the seal, with no doubt another identical stag, is missing.'; (U-380) 'Stamp Seal of Black/Grey Stone, 47 x 34 x 12mm. This is a gable in shape, pierced through the thickest part. The design shows two standing horned quadrupeds, one above the other, with filling strokes around. This comes from north Syria or Anatolia and dates to c. 400-3400 B.C. it is a large example of its kind, and is in very good condition.'; (U-446) 'Stamp Seal of Black Stone, 26 x 20 x 5mm. This is an oblong plaque, engraved on one side only, with two suspension holes for carrying on a string. The design consists of angular grooves: a pattern of straight strokes or stokes turning at right-angles, never curved. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2500-2300 B.C. It is a rare item and in quite good condition, the corners being a little worn down.'; (T-611) 'Stamp Seal of Black/Green Stone, 15 x 19 x 4.5mm This is an oblong plaque, pierced twice, through opposite corners. Both sides have designs, done in the same style of short wedge strokes. The one shows a recumbent winged quadruped with tree in front of it. The other side also, it seems, depicts a recumbent winged quadruped. This comes from eastern Iran or west central Asia and dates to c. 2000-1500 B.C. It is a rare type, but is worn.'; (W-72) 'Stamp Seal of Grey Stone, 43 x 65 x 6mm. This is an oblong plaque with design on one side, not pierced. The design shows a lion on its haunches with curving tail raised. This comes from northern Mesopotamia or Anatolia and dates to c. 4000-3400 b.C. It is a rare item for both size and shape. Above the lion's back there are crescents on poles and in front of the lion there are less clear scratchings. These may all be secondary. The plaque is worn and chipped and its plain back is much scratched.'; the rest comprising: three oblong plaques, two bifacial stamps and one oblong seal with gable-shaped reverse. 159.7 grams total, 11-65mm (1/2-2 1/2"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; collection numbers 1729, 4074, R-140, R-417, R-586, T-611, V-380, V-446, W-72, W-840, Z-81, academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s. Dr. Bonewitz notes: 'The seals are made from lapis lazuli (2), serpentine (3), bone (1), limestone (5).' [11] Fine condition.
