The shank appears to be original showing no obvious sign of previous damage or repair. The claws are all present, securing the stones and all stones are securely set. The centre stone appears to be in good condition other than one very minor impact related mark in the area of one claw, one of the smaller stones has damage likewise in the area of one claw to the extent of approximately 2mm. All these marks are historic and age related. We are not qualified to grade stones.

There are two turquoises lacking from the collar of the greyhound, not one as noted in the description in the printed catalogue. There are some surface scratches and wear, consistent with age and use. The back legs of the hound are shorter than the front legs and are perhaps partly lacking. There is a small crack to one side of the matrix.
