Robert Clidsdale is recorded in Smith, John OLD SCOTTISH CLOCKMAKERS 1453-1850 as being apprenticed to Alexander Brand in 1738, he gained his Freedom in 1754 and worked presumably until his death in 1786.

Josiah Kember is recorded in Baillie, G.H. Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World as working in Shaw 1771-7.
