Bell had a professional relationship with other London horologists including Robert Hooke and Thomas Tompion, the latter helped Hewitt to itemise and evaluate Bell’s workshop equipment and tools which Hewitt had inherited on Bell’s death.Despite being an extremely accomplished clockmaker, Hewitt appears to have joined the Curriers’ Company in 1697, thus watches and clocks by Hewitt are very rare.

This clock is based on the 'large model', in turn inspired by the Fountaine des Innocents in the Les Halles district of the city with the final design being complete by Charles-Auguste Lebourg.
Two rings - rose gold & black opal ring, not hallmarked but tested as 9ct or better. UK size K. Stone measures 22mm long appx. Together with 9ct hallmarked designer style ring set white stones. Gross weight 11.9g. Tiny nick to one end of the black opal. Both need cleaning. (2)
