Decorated with a central peony medallion within a fluted well and band of lappets to the exterior, covered in an glassy olive green glaze leaving an unglazed ring to the base. 27.4cm diam. Good overall condition with no signs of damage or repair. Minor light surface scratches only. '163' in marker to the base.
A CHOW TAI FOOK SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND DRESS RING, WITH LAB REPORT. A round faceted mixed cut sapphire set in 18K white gold mount set with diamonds. The sapphire tested by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory as a natural sapphire with no evidence of heat treatment. Sapphire 8.4mm x 4.4mm. Ring weight 2.64 grams. Ring size J. Lab report dated 12 September 2023. Stamped to ring CTF for Chow Tai Fook, Hong Kong, 18K. Good condition.
A CHINESE GU SHAPED WUCAI PORCELAIN VASE, 19/20TH CENTURY. Decorated with dragons, birds and floral scrolls between bands of lappets and geometric patterns. Six character mark of Wanli to base in a double ring in underglaze blue. 23cm tall A faint 6cm vertical hairline from the rim. Small areas of enamel loss to decoration in places to decoration with light scratches to the exterior.
FOUR CHINESE WOOD AND RED LACQUER BASKETS AND OTHER ITEMS. Comprising: a covered basket, with pierced fretwork handles, 33cm high x 36cm wide, a covered jug with pierced fretwork handle 38.5cm high, a rectangular domed box gilt with precious objects and lotus flowers, with internal tray and carry handles, 65cm long and a globular basket with wirework sides and curved handle suspending a metal ring 21.5cm high (4) The basket with fretwork handle, with triangular repair to rim of basket, some wear and slight splitting. The basket with handle and metal ring - with some splitting at sides, some chipping at foot rim, rubbing to red lacquer at side. Rectangular red lacquered box - some flaking and losses, wear overall. Jug with similar splitting and wear. Minor chipping at edges.
TWO CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN DISHES, 18TH CENTURY. The first decorated with two pheasants perched on rock work within a floral scene, with seal mark in double ring to base; Together with another blue and white dish densely decorated with a scale pattern and stylised floral motifs. Kangxi period (1662-1722). Approx. 27.5cm diam. (2) The first with repaired section to rim with chip and fritting. The other dish with 3cm firing fault to base, no visible cracks or chips, no repairs, some wear and scratched to the exterior.
A LARGE CHINESE SQUARE FORM PORCELAIN BALUSTER VASE, 19TH CENTURY. Heavily potted pale celadon ground with blue and white decoration of the four seasons, with twin lion mask ring handles. 43cm tall. Sections of loss to rim with chips. Losses to both mask and ring handles. No signs of repair.
A CHINESE YELLOW GLAZED PORCELAIN VASE, LATE QING DYNASTY. Of baluster form covered in a with M formed ring handles and apocryphal six character mark of Chenghua to base. With a carved and pierced wood display stand. Vase 22cm tall.Provenance: Property of Terence E B Harnden who served as Senior Naval Stores Officer in Hong Kong between 1937 - 1940. Acquired in Hong Kong before returning to England, thence by descent. Two 2cm vertical hairlines at the rim. Firing cracks to underside of each handle. No signs of repairs.
