There are some surface scratches to the tourmaline. Chips to three of the calibre cut tsavorite garnets. Mount is overall in a good wearable condition, some minor surface marks/scratches from handling but no signs of damage or repair.

A late Victorian 18ct gold diamond five stone ring, the central old brilliant-cut diamond with graduated diamond two stone shoulders, London hallmarks, 1896, ring size KCondition Report: Approximate weight of ring 2.84 grams. Maker's mark J.W.B. for James William Benson. Some wear to the sides of gallery and the shank - edges of shank a little sharp at base. A little wear to the claws but diamonds all appear secure. Hallmark nice and crisp, top edge worn a little where the shank has worn. Diamonds are nice and bright, and nicely matched. Centre diamond with an estimated weight of approximately 0.25 carats. Diamonds assessed as approximately G-H colour, SI clarity.

Barbara Christie (1947-2013). A silver diamond and uvarovite ring, with a central brilliant cut diamond bezel set within gold cup setting, to heart shaped uvavorite garnet druzy plaque, bezel set, to silver closed back setting and textured hoop, London hallmarks, 2008, ring size O; together with a silver mounted heart shaped opal ring, unmarked, ring size P (2)Barbara Christie was an esteemed head of the jewellery department at Morley College, London for over 30 years, and held important educational roles teaching first-year students at the arts and design college Central Saint Martins, London. In 2012 she created a gold and druze quartz necklace for the landmark Gold: Power and Allure exhibition at the Goldsmith’s Hall, and following her death a year later in 2013, a retrospective of her work titled Light Seeping Through Windows was hosted at Contemporary Applied Arts in London. Barbara's work is held in public collections such as the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and the American Craft Museum, New York, and Madeleine Albright, the former US secretary of state, was among her customers.

Sapphire is a well saturated strong significant blue tone with very good transparency. The stone is free of obvious inclusions with the exception of a feather inclusion underneath the pavilion facets, this does not detract, some natural colour zoning is visible under magnification. Approx. weight of each diamond shoulder 0.25 carats, approx. colour H-I, clarity VS as viewed in mount. Mount is unhallmarked but stamped 7050, presumed 18ct gold. Gross weight of ring 4.76 grams.
