A good 1920s Cartier black onyx cased "Milestone" desk timepiece, the 68mm diameter cream enamelled "Pekin" style chapter ring with black enamel Roman numerals interspersed with small square red coral panels, the border set with two small rose diamonds at each numeral, the dial centre in red coral fretted and carved with bird and floral motifs within mother of pearl border, and with rose diamond set hands to the eight day movement, the case with two square cabochon red coral bosses and gilt brass strut support to reverse, 100mm x 78mm overall, the strut engraved "Cartier, Paris" and No. 1627 (crack to onyx body at 3 o`clock, three square coral stones missing to chapter ring and some rose diamonds missing to outer border)

Conleth Gent is a Wicklow based artist and a founder member of Signal Arts Centre, Bray. He exhibits widely throughout Ireland, has worked on several community based projects and his work forms part of numerous collections. ANTIQUE CHINESE CARVED IVORY FOO DOG VESSELAntique Chinese hand carved ivory lidded tripod vessel having a figural foo dog cover. Body has pumpkin shape with etched clouds. Also has four handles to neck, two depicting a foo dog and two depicting elephants, each having fully relief carved ring. Measures 5 1/2" height (13.9cm). Total weight of 102 grams.
18th CENTURY CHINESE GEM JADEITE TRIPOD VESSELFine antique Gem Quality Jadeite covered tripod vessel. Exquisitely carved throughout to depict a foo dot finial to cover and four handles, each wielding a relief ring. Body has a two handle figural dragon head design to each side with relief rings. Has three feet each having a foo mask design. Includes fitted wooden base with silver inlay and silk presentation box. Magnificent deep apple green gem jadeite specimen. 18th/19th century. Measures 3 1/4" height x 2 5/8" width + 7/8" base height (8.2cm x 6.6cm + 2.2cm). Total jade weight of 130 grams.
A fine walnut and floral marquetry longcase clock first quarter of the 18th century, the oak lined case with walnut veneered sides inset with stringing and cross banding, the front profusely decorated with floral marquetry on a background of ebony veneer, the hood with wide overhanging cornice supported on turned fruitwood columns to the front and quartered columns to the rear, all with gilded capitals and bases, the inlay of the long trunk door panel in varicoloured woods displaying birds, flowers in an urn supported by winged mythical figures and leafy foliage, surrounding a glass `bull`s eye` aperture with further birds, flowers and figures below, the base with an ogee moulding above another panel of floral inlay on a walnut plinth, the 12 inch square brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial, square date aperture and finely matted centre, mounted with spandrels of pairs of cherubs supporting crowns, engraved in the Roman chapter ring with minute track, `Clark Preston London`, maker of the movement which strikes on a single bell, 82½in. (209.5cm.) high, the trunk 12¾in. (32.5cm.) wide, plinth moved up and reaffixed to the bottom edge of the floral panel to shorten clock, original base of the case believed to remain behind plinth. A Georgian and later ebonised fruitwood veneered bracket clock with inverted bell top and carrying handle, the brass dial with mask and foliage spandrels, Roman and Arabic chapter ring and silvered date ring, below which is an open panel bearing the engraved maker`s name `J Sharp Bawtry`, enclosed by an arched glazed door, the case 11in. wide at the base, 18½in. (47cm.) high, the replacement 19th century brass movement striking on a single bell. See Illustration.
