A FRENCH GILT-BRONZE MOUNTED SEVRES STYLE PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCKLate 19th CenturyWith a winged Cupid mounted above the dial, painted with an amorous couple and Roman hours, the side panels with musical trophies, the twin train movement by Japy Freres, stamped with medallion and serial number 937, pendulum and key, 31cm highCondition report: The case: rubbing to the gilding of the mounts with some oxidisation, tarnishing, dirt and dust. Cover to the movement is missing and replaced with a cut out brass example which is screwed in. The Cupid figure is a little loose as is his quiver and bow. The dial: Rubbing to some of the gilding on the porcelain, especially around the minute marks to the outer ring. The movement: this will need to be checked by a clock specialist. A GROUP OF FOREIGN AND PLATED WARES (8)Comprising; two rectangular boxes, both wooden lined within, a cylindrical jar and cover, decorated with floral and foliate sprays, a sauceboat, a circular dish, mounted with an India one rupee 1906, a napkin ring, mounted with Indian coins, a plated napkin ring and a plated spoonCondition report: weight of cylindrical jar and cover 162gms. The jar and cover - several dents to the foot. Cover fits nice and tightly. A few ents to the body and cover but hardly noticeable. Height 8.5cm no apparent marks. Larger rectangular box with detachable cover - several small but some sharp dents to the lid and the base. Smaller box - no wooden lining within the lid. Hinge a bit distorted, front on one side is raised when closed. Monogram engraved. Two or three minor shallow dents. Sauce boat - small dent to lip - has inscription to the side but is otherwise good condition. Spoon - plating is worn. Triangular napkin ring - has split. Dish with coin - good condition, diameter 10.3cm. Circular napkin ring - split.

Hinge good condition. Some wear to the exterior, particularly to the underside. Split to corner of lid on right by the hinge. Weight: 156gmsJug weight 151gms. The jug has a dent to the foot rim and a shallow dent to the body. Repair to top of handle where it meets the rim of the jug. Otherwise good condition. Napkin ring weight: 20gms. Napkin ring is engraved ‘Herman’. Mustard pot and spoon weight: 32gms. Back leg of pot finial not soldered to the top of the lid. The spoon is in good condition.
